I know in cars when the waterpump leaks its the begining of worse problems.....

Mine did the same thing this winter, upon closer inspection I found it was not the pump seal but the hose clamp on the pump was loose. The coolant ran around the pump seal area making it look like the pump seal was leaking. I snuged all the hose clamps up real good and cleaned the dry coolant off the pump. There is no sign of coolant leaking now.

I did. It was due to the groove for the seal being cut too deep in the pump body. I
removed the pump, disassembled it and machined .015 inch off of it to allow the seal to
protrude further thereby letting it compress more. If you have access to a lathe this is a
fairly easy job. I have not had any leaks since then.
