lowering for street
how far in the tubes? when does the fuel pump hit? I most importantly want to retain the geometry. I'm using the 2nd hole of 3. how's the handling? better? worse? no different...just lower? oh yea..clems/ osr is on the way. (thanks James) clearance issues on cornering? Brock's smeg... Has anybody looked into making your own adjustable links? 4 rod ends and nuts with a turnbuckle center.spacers ect. I had them in my hands today..they're beefy..1/2 fine threads. under a $100.

Darin, you're small enough that you might get away with lowering the forks in the clamps 1/2-1", but be careful. Without my bike even lowered, I scraped the plastics in the corners..... and I have vids to prove it

Forks slid up 3/4" at swb I would stay at the center hole. You can go all the way down, but it's not fun on the street.
As for making your own lowering links, no way man. If one were to break it would be bad. Not worth the money saved IMHO.

+1 on the lowering links.
I'm lowered 1" in the front, but i've got a hickey on the top of the fender.

It looks like a dirt bike with the rear pegs and the dual pipes gone. I might go with a custom seat and a knobby rear instead to get me touching better... hey now...Im not small...the bike was built for a 150# person? a bean pole maybe. The parts I was looking at were from an industrial supply place. I will investigate the strength aspect. I'm not trying to save money, I'd rather be in the garage than watching tv (I'm loaded now that the 5 kids and wife are gone) .....thanks for the input

my 02 cents on lowering
I am in the second hole on my Muzzys links and droped 1'' in the triple trees and have no handling issues. I ride a lot of twistys here in Tennessee and am very confortable lowered. I am going to get my pan cut for safty reasons because I have seen many here that have busted the stock pan lowered. I agree a stock height bike looks funny to me as well.

Yup. 1 1/2" lower on front and about same with Muzzy at rear, or there abouts. No street issues, other than speed bumps for last two years... It is a bit too easy to peg scrape at Willow Springs, however.

-.5 frt. -1.5 rear & yes plastics touch with 1" chicken strips on PR 2's. OSR pan saved my
butt twice last year, and I wouldn't change a thing except maybe knee pucks on the fairing?
