Goofy looking, like this?:

you can't compair the ride height/tail height of a cut seat rail bike to a stocker. put it next to a stock bike with an arm and it will look like a 4x4

My point was that lower is not always better...you need some suspension travel, as you can see in the vid. A proper shock will allow that.

On the other hand, perhaps a nice long +12" swingram will work great with 2" of travel on a stock shock.

i bet if they could legally get the bike lower they would. but ground clearance and seat height stops them.

Do they use these in order to prevent the over population of shocks?

I think a Booza spring +12 would work for you. I have stock shock with rebound and compression set tight and booza spring +10 but 100lb heavier than you. I just kept adjusting the dog bones and tighten the shock until I had about half inch clearance between the undertail to tire and half inch clearance from bottoming out the shock. I go full throttle and start releasing the clutch @ the first light on a pro tree. My bike squats to its lowest point and transfer the weight before it ever moves; therefor leaving as low and with as much grip as possible . With the add leverage of the long swingarm its reduces the pogo effect you would see with a shorter arms. Also as I go down the track the bike rises but squats a little on shift points and doesn't brake traction. $80 Works for me.

Furthering the point...the damping is the key. WIth a drag shock the bike might stay planted until well past the 660' mark...think about that.
