New battery in the works!
Same lightweight construction and materials as Speedcell,
except it comes in a hardcase,
and about 30% more affordable
Lithium Iron, high quality, safe.
I am the Canadian Distributor,
I will post an advertisement in the backyard garage when more details become available and I am ready to market them.
4 different sizes ranging from 120 CA to 480 CA
The 240CA 5A model will sell for $160 USD stateside plus shipping,
or $180 USD in Canada plus canadian shipping.
Thats substantialy less than a comparable Speedcell at $260.

Im very interested I was gonna buy a speedcell but if you take too long Ill get it for sure I want to have it before the season starts!

My stock battery is going on its fourth year, so a replacement is on the horizon. How much does the 240CA 5A weigh?

approx 1.5 lb, for approx 10 lbs weight savings!
It will never freeze, or boil, and will outlast many bikes after this one!
They can handle 1000 completed charge, and total discharge cycles in a lifetime, with only 5% capacity drop over that lifetime
BTW ....3 or 4 of those usually kills conventional lead acid battery...

The 240cca speedcell with the quick connects weighed in at 1 lbs. 7 oz for me. Are these lighter than the Speedcell?
I might be looking to move to a larger capacity, so this pricing/product is very good news!

The 240 cca comes with plastic housing and might be 1-2 ounces heavier.
The 360 cca currently comes shrink wrapped like the speedcell, so it will also be close.
These are currently being used by the dirt bike comunity. I stumbled across them through the dirt bikes and inquired about larger ones for the drag bike community.
As you are aware Shane, the 240cca is very suitable for the stock compression, but the larger ones will be required for 1300+ cc at high compression.

The only issue I have seen with the 240 is in the cold; It doesn't like to crank below about 40 degrees. Otherwise, excellent performance!

have you let it warm, by turmning ignition on for 30 seconds, then cranking?
They are lazy at low temps due to Zero internal resistance.
What makes them so good and not lose charge over a season p[arked, is what hurts them at near freezing temps

Usually I crank for two seconds...let it sit a minute...then crank for two more, let it sit. It will usually light off fine then. Maybe I will switch to just letting it sit for 30 seconds, I think that might be better/safer for the battery.

you won't hurt that battery,
Its just that it needs to warm up to raise the rinternal resistance and amps
Try the key on, headlights on method, it might work better to warm the battery, yet not deplete it.

I have fuel plates, they have two 1/4 npt holes drilled and taped in the center. I didnt make any blanks.

Want one , can you run them full time, what's the charge rate ! will they work ok in the street enviroment ?
will fuel pump headlight on for 1 min be enough at low temp, have prob. with lithium drill batt. left over night, cold night's here.

Ok here is the deal on temperature and battery sizes.
If run the bike in temps above 40F , or +5C the 240 CCA 5A model work fine on stock compression zx14 or hayabusa, and anything smaller 4 cylinders.
If you increase compression, stroke or bigbore, get 360CCA 7.5 amp
If you run stock compression zx14 at temps colder than 40F or +5 Celcius, then get a 360CCA 7.5 battery.
You can run these batteries full time, on a conventional bike, or a s total loss system with no alternator for the race guys.
They will take up to 50 amp charge 10 minutes to full charge, or a trickle charge
There is also a 480 CCA 10Amp battery for you Louis, if you want one that big.
Not sure why? did you put a 124Cu s&s harley engine in the zx14?
Thats a pile of juice.... should spin the zx14 over like the plugs are out LOL

Lyle :-) GPS, Radar Dector, GMRS intercom and second ZX-14 rad fan. Sport Tour from Fort Worth to Arkansas, Ozark Mountains Also am looking at electric warm weather riding gear. Wanted the spare power, high beam lights on etc hours of use a day. Lot of start a stopping in mountains for pictures.I may be over doing it just wanted to know all options.
If the engine quits I can get home on starter. Big Battery .... do not listen to the jokes.
Bigger is Better.my wife would not lie lol :-)

Louis...The alternator needs to keep up with all that, and recharge the battery for starting.... you know what i am saying, but the alternator would be the problem if you have any
