It is much quicker, but I can't really give you a "number" so to speak.

It's possible, but you are giving up a lot with your stock pipes.

The gains from just pulling the flies are at lower engine speeds, around 3000rpm and depend on the year of the bike, because they are mapped differently by Kawasaki.
On an 06 with a PC and a custom tune you could see another 25bhp by getting rid of the hole in the power curve and much better throttle response at low rpm. Peak power will not change by pulling the flies but the custom tune might find a little more.

If you change the exhaust system too, for a decent four-into-one, you should see at least another 20bhp at peak power.
You must be joking? a custom tune will gain 25 bhp and another 20 bhp from a four into one system for a total 45 more hp? thats a joke.maybe ten to fifteen tops and thats tops from those mods.

If you're going to quote me at least get it right and read what I said.

You get extra power around 3000rpm just removing the flies on a stock bike. Nothing more at peak power.

You get more at peak power by changing the exhaust system.

Don't go adding those figures together and saying I claimed 45 more hp, they refer to different parts of the power curve. They will differ from bike to bike and from dyno to dyno too. We are talking theory here. My 06 made 192.9RWHP after both mods but I wouldn't say it's making more than any other bike unless we did a same day, same dyno run. And I wouldn't say it's faster than yours unless I beat you at the track.

My 157 HP was completely stock out of the box, I was disappointed in that number. But all dyno's are different and readings vary.

Damn there is a few around here with those #'s who posted their #'s in the low hp 14 thread.
Mine made that 157hp and change 3 years ago on Kerrys dyno when she was at 15,000 miles.
I wonder what she makes today at 58,000 lol!

I was the low 160hp with pipe no pc. Not quoting names, but some guys here think the pc and fly removal dosent do any good... Well I got news for you. I ran 6.20's 1/8 mile with bone stock and extensions. I have got done to consistant 5.70's with just adding pipe, pc, fly removal, and rear sprocket. 1/2 second in the 1/8 is a lot.

It did a little on my 09.I think for the money if you ride twistys like I do then I think your money is better spent on gearing. As shane stated you will lose some top end but the way I ride thats not a problem. My 09 with cat removed from header stock cans knn filter no smog no flys a pc 5 put out 166.91 hp and 101.64 torque 636 your gearing helped your et and the map a little but the flys didnt do anything unless you were drag racing bellow 3 gs??

On a 2006-2007 zx14 the flies opened at 6k not 3 like the 08/09. I raced my bike showroom stock for about 6 months before I ever did anything to it and when the flies were in I would have to launch at 5000 RPM to keep it from bogging on the launch. As soon as I would get the clutch out and it hit 6k the flies would open and it would go into unicycle mode. After pulling the flies I could launch it at 3500-4k and the power was smooth and controlable. If you reed the brocks diary about low end performance gains that I posted in your other thread you'll see the 25+hp/tq that we're talking about in the lower rev ranges. Gearing is a cheap way to move the powerband around to where you use it most, but on an 06/07 pulling the flies is still the mecca of all performance mods. I guarantee you that your bike will pull like a 14 under 6k vice pulling like a 1000 and then trying to either blow the tire off or wheelie.

That makes sense even more so on the 06 07.What I do notice if you roll the throttle on fast at low rpms there is still a very slight flat spot for a split second but its bellow 3gs on the tach and that may not be the best thing in the world to do for the bottom end??I here thats normal but I cant say.

There shouldn't be a flat spot anywhere with the 14. I haven't noticed anything like tha, but then I play at 6k and above anyways so I guess I'm not the right one to give input here lol!
