Buddy with Busa talking trash already!
I'm sure this has been beaten to death on this forum but I have not even picked up my 14 yet and my buddy with the busa is talking alot of shit already! LOL!
His bike is mostly stock with just some slip-ons and air filter. The 14 i'm getting is mostly stock with air filter and 1 tooth sprocket up front 2 down in the rear.
I know this is gonna all come down to rider but what have you guys seen in a similar comparo. On paper it seems like the zx14 should be always be faster as they seem to dyno 10-15HP higher and 7-10 ft lbs as well....
How much should I bet on this one basically or should i even bet at all. He is a little bit better of a rider than me...
On a sidenote my fazer would keep up somewhat with his bike up until around 110...he was 10-15 lenghts ahead and pulling slowly but surely but once we hit 110 he would really start bus lenghting me.

Is his a first Gen Busa?Your 14 will do just fine.Alot what happens depends on the rider.

yeah...its been beaten to death, this suzi vs kawi thing. on paper is one thing....on the strip is another.
btw i smoked busa's all damn day on my R6 at the strip, just bc i knew how to ride my bike and they didnt.
so if it even comes to a matter of who will get who...if he rides better than you, then likely he will win. doesnt matter the bike

Wise words, on similar machinery the better rider will always win.
Just don't ride beyond your ability on the streets and become an accident statistic, stay safe and enjoy the bike, the speed will come with experience.

Are you saying that the 14 is geared +1 up front, and 2 down in the rear? That is mileage gearing and will kill your acceleration. Now, if it is -1 up front, and +2 in the rear, that is a different story.

i like the way that he said "i could keep up somewhat on my fazer" and then said that the guy had 15 lengths on him by 110 mph. :O That my friends is an asswhipping lol. Go get some revenge on your 14. you shouldn't have any problems with him. Also, Remember... The best way to win a 3rd gear roll on is to take off in 2nd  .

Hmm ... I read the gearing wrong. Yeah the eyeabuser has the advantage.
No worries! Change the gearing to -1 up front, and +2 in the rear and whoop his ass hard!

I think he misunderstood the gearing, (I hope so anyway) bc I that bike was geared like that and had 15,000 miles on the odometer, I wander how many miles it really has...
