New lightweight Michelin tires
Who is going to be trying these this year ? I have already ordered some for our shop so when they come in I will post up some weight comparisons. I was told they will be available in a couple weeks.

Light weight sounds like yhey would be shorting the tire on rubber or radial

I use the regular Pilot Power tire and I usually run around 50 psi in the rear tire at the track. I have never had a problem spinning either. I am at stock wheel base and usually 60ft between 1.51-1.53
For me I think this tire will be great for no more power than my bike makes.

It's worth asking Michelin themselves if they are listing the Power Pure for fitment to the ZX-14.
The last time I asked them about one of their sport tires they said the Kawasaki was not listed, too heavy and too much power it seems. I know people do use them but in the event of a failure Michelin and Kawasaki may not stand by you.

I'm a huge fan of the Pilot Powers 2CT,
this new tire is most likely to replace my current set.
Keep in mind that Pirelli is coming out with a successor to the Corsa III,
which is the other most popular dual compound tire.
I ran Corsas on my gsxr and will try Pirelli's new rubber for sure.

I'll have a set after I quickly blow through a couple more sets of 2CTs in the garage. I'll let you know how the soft sides work out anyway in the NC mountains in a few months, and the wear factor in the middle on straight FL roads.

Yesterday I emailed Michelin and received this reply today:
"We would advise that unfortunately we do not have the Michelin Power Pure, as a recognised fitment for your Kawasaki ZZR1400 (ZX-14) and therefore, cannot comment on its suitability................
Although it is not illegal to fit the Michelin Power Pure on your motorcycle, it is not to our recommendations, sorry."

You are probably right but I remember when the Pirelli Hi Sport first became available and I fitted a pair to my GSX-R1100. The grip was phenominal but the power of the bike overwhelmed the tyre and they would overheat. Bits of rubber hanging off after a quick ride and about 500 miles from a set.
I was wondering if, 20 years on, the ZX14 would do the same to the Michelin.
