I do think the Yoshi came with to much restriction it came with a silencer tip I pulled and didn't use
the pipe was to quite with all that restricted muffler packing . I think after 15k it started freeing up and gave me more HP . Besides that over pack restriction flaw the Yoshi pipe now delivers and sounds great at 46k . And now its a kick ass sounding pipe for the twisty application on the 14

Bottom line the Yoshi design is superior for road racing and was a Kawasaki sponsor at one time but is mostly known for Suzuki . If I was a drag racer I would not have bought the Yoshi it is a great pipe for my application and I am more happier with it now and am pulling high Dyno #
And I piss on slip ons they suck on the 14 for power no matter what you have

Bawls is a experienced drag racer with a bike set up for it .Exp, lowering links and extension make a bigger difference than a few more HP I now when to shut my mouth Lee is still clueless

Watch the TT at the Isle of Man from the last few years and you will notice something peculiar-
there's probably not a single gsxr in both 600 and 1000 that runs a Yoshi exhaust.
It's no secret on the gixxer forums that a full Leo Vince or a full Akra will
make more power with a similar setup than a full Yoshi on any of the newer gens gixers.
This thread has gone slighly out of topic it seems,
but it is a fact on the 14 as well- a Yoshi exhaust is not going to lay
down more rwhp than a handfull of other street exhausts.

Right on epd345 we have different kinds of ZX14 riders here on bikeland the ZX14 does more than just being a hot drag racing bike with a good sidewinder , ect
The ZX14 is also a good twisty & touring bike in case some of you have forgotten that

That's because yosh is the enemy's pipe maker and yosh makes their suzuki pipes perfect to make power.
For everyone else they don't put much effort into the pipes and therefore are not as efficiant .
Heck you can't even run a better sized filter with a yosh installed!

Hmm.... I've known Pops & Fujio since they were Dale Starr Engineering. Not counting their own in-house Kawasaki's, I don't recall Yoshimura ever being a sponser of the Kawasaki Factory Teams? Name the year(s).

Pops Yoshimura to race a Kawasaki Z1000 in the newly formed AMA production class. He won his first AMA superbike race in 1977.[1] For the 1978 season, Yoshimura switched to better handling Suzuki

I agree, but they were NOT a Factory Team like Suzuki does Yosh now.
Wes and Pop's did this "In house" his shop. Before that pop's made fast Honda's in the early 70's.
