The forks are tapered; you have to be careful sliding them up in the trees. It's a matter of what you are comfortable with.
I have a sidewinder now, and I intend to make the most of it. Otherwise, why bother with one in the first place?
When I run the bike in the mile, I can't strap it down hard like at the dragstrip....so I would prefer to lower them internally just in case I want to run it at the mile again.

I've heard that some of the grudge bikes are 400 lbs or less.
There was a grudge 1000 in Valdosta that the guy claimed it was 380lbs if I remember correct.

I think the issue with the 14 is that the motor is heavy, but I think for a dedicated race bike I could get it near 400 lbs.

Would you remove the rear brake? If so rear brake rotor, master cylinder, caliper and hose what do you say around 20lbs?

Rear brake assembly, I'm thinking about 6 pounds loss or so from what I have now.
I would consider it. I'd have to see how much speed I could scrub with no brakes...we have 1/2 mile of shutdown. I don't like to take too many risks. That would leave me with just the single front.

won't pass tech at some race events.. i watch a guy get piss because they flagged him for no rear brakes .. but dayum

It will pass at the track days I do, so that wouldn't be a worry. But I don't think I want to take the risk, safety-wise.

I can make my 450 lb goal without removing the rear brake, so it is really a non-issue for me.

just removing the rear rotor alone would lose some significant spun weight.
on the round tracks removing the rear brakes doesn't work so well of course, but swapping to a decent wave rotor results in losing a pound or so of nasty spinning dead weight

I was just wondering. I am at roughly 495 with 1 gallon of gas. I am trying to lighten my bike up a little more. Shane do you know how much the Adams chromoly swing arm weighs compared to stock? Is it lighter? I know I am throwing tons of questions at you but I trust your opinions.

I doubt you will save any significant weight with the Adams arm. Yes, they look lighter...but a stock arm is only 10.5 lbs, and the extensions will add about 2.5 lbs. to that. I almost ran extensions because they were lighter than my extended arm...and my arm is only 14.5 lbs.
If you aren't running a lightweight battery, get the Speedcell and save 10 lbs. for $250.

I had a tracdynamics arm and it was one heavy sucker .. but It ran the same Et s and MPH ..

I also worry about that.. I have yet to see someone have a problem with them ..That is one reason i run mine a bit shorter .. I feel safer with the wheel a little bit more forward .. If i get another arm it will be a stock arm with cobys welded extensions with a lower loop .. It should still be less weight than a aftermarket arm .. Oh and a lot less cost ..

My stockarm with roaring toyz 8" blocks weighted with in 1/2 pound of my Adams arm. However, I gained 2" of WB with the Adams. Plus, the adams arm has an air tank build in.

When I experimented with lowering the bike for LSR I ended up with the trees dropped just 1cm and strapped it as well. This left a little bit of suspension movement, got the bike low enough and crucially it still had some damping which stopped the front end bouncing on the tire.

Under $700, bare (I painted mine). For your app, Nooby, I think the 6-12" arm is what you would need. I can only run about 65" on my arm.
