Which oil in shock?
I dont mean forks, I mean rear shock. Does anyone know? 5w? 10W?

remember, if you use heavier oil it takes longer to get to proper operation !!!
Long rides heavy oil...
Short rides light oil...

I looked into doing it myself but the tools through RaceTech cost more than sending the shock out to someone. Post us your results please.

The only thing I will need that I cant do is needle charge the nitrogen reservoir. I have a busa shock that I did some surgery on today. It isnt complicated.

Of course but the oil still needs to warm up then the shock will be working at its best...
works the same as different engine oil weights.....
You just need to decide which is best for your need...

Race shock better work best cold
, unless you plan to bounce on it in the pits.

I got the idea of just changing oil weights from a guy who did it to his shock. It really slows the shock up with the heavier oil on his bike.
NOTICE: DONT TRY OPENING THE SHOCK IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO. There is a nitrogen bladder in there with 150psi in it.

I have a stock 08 Busa shock too??? What did you do to get it to mount on ZX-14?

I meant I used it to experiment with. I wont pull the 14's until I find a nitrogen recharger in town.

I had a local suspension guy revalve the shock to slow the rebound. The shocks have a 3w oil and that is what he put back in it. The trick to the oil change is you have to get every bit of air out of it or the shock gets to a point in the stroke where it "slips". The nitrogen charge was bumped from the factory 150psi to 200psi for my weight. You can bounce up and down on the bike and tell the difference. It only takes an 1/8th to 1/4 turn to make a noticeable change now. Will try it out next Saturday with the suspension guy there at the track. If it isnt quite right he will revalve it until it is. I thought that was pretty cool of him.

this is why i havent tried fvcking with mine lol. how do you take them apart ?

Glad I talked with some guys first because I like taking crap apart. I'd tear down a bowling ball if you gave me the time.lol
You have to bleed off the nitrogen with a syringe type needle and remove the bladder assembly. Pour the oil out and remove the cartridge assembly from the bottom of the shock. Yeah, it is worth paying somebody to screw with it who knows what is going on with tuning them.
