front brakes master cylinder question

I am in the process of changing brake lines and ran into a problem when I started to bleed the fronts. I can't get them to prime. Do I need to bleed the bleeder on the master cylinder get them to prime? Thanks for the help.

Never had that problem but they sell vacumn fill kits at the auto parts stores fairly cheap, might help.

You can try it. Are you sure you are doing the bleeding correctly?

Yes Start at the bleeder at the master then work to the right caliper then the left.
You might not have enough pressure even though you've bled all the air out. So bleed the master last to get the pressure back.
Brakes can be a pain to bleed sometimes lol!

I went and purchased a mighty vac at the parts house and it did the trick. There was quite a bit of air in the master cylinder. The pump is the shit for doing bthis job alone. Hook it up and pump it into about 20 inches of vacuum and open the bleeder. If it wasn't twenty degrees outside I would be out checking my improved petal feel. I guess that's why we call them winter improvements.

No I didn't make to see lee and the voodoo dyno yet. My pops is getting knee replacement on the 18th so I had to stay back to attend an all day class on what to expect with that. I am now shooting to get with him on the way to bike week with a little luck.

Best wishes to your father and yourself! My email is timlea69@cfl.rr.com, if you would like some company riding there(granted I will get permission from Lee if I can tag along). I wanted to get some drag racing pointers, enjoy the companionship, and learn a bit more about our bikes! In addition we should hook up with some of the riders close(14 nooby comes to mind) and set a course for a ride. On another thread(shootin for 8s), I would like to attend a meet, greet, & drag with local members. That would be fun
