Such a heart breaking day....

So for those of you that don't know, I had to sell my precious 2006 CBR 600rr Orange Tribal (with 137k on it) to get the down payment for my house in time for closing....so I sold it to a soldier who was ETSing. He was just ETSing but he lived here locally....so I knew I would see the bike again. I told him when tax times comes I wanted to buy the bike back from him. He was cool with that because I told him I would give him more than what he paid me.

They I get a letter in the mail from CHP....first I was like, "That SOB didn't register it!!!", then I looked further at the notice of stored vehicle and it had the wrecked box checkmarked on it. I teared. Somehwere in my heart I knew I wouldn't get my bike back the way it was, that this dude would down it, but I had to chose my family over my passion.

I am going to go down and see what the bike looks like and if it looks like the last salvaged bike I bought, then I will take her home and rebuild her. I am not having my hopes up because the guy riding it went to the hospital in critical condition....So wish me luck.

Just in case, let's pay tribute to my precious motorcycle....the best FIRST motorcycle I ever bought...may she rest in piece:

Let wish luck to the soldier. I agree. That bike was material. Sounds to me like your more worried about you precious 137K bike than if the guy is ok. Many riders go down, and personally I hate when somebody cares about the bike more than the human being. You may not be that way but thats the way it sounds.

God Bless the soldier and if you want, I'll find you another tribal cbr600

It's just a freaking bike. Precious motorcycle?
Have fun with it.
Buy a new one.
Rebuild an old one.
Whatever.

Guy is in critical condition, you're worried about the bike?

I gotta agree with the guys above.......

If the guy is in critical condition, that's who I'm wishing luck to. With him being a soldier or if he's ETS'd now, a veteran, that's who I would pay tribute to.

For someone who is good enough to put your family before your passion, you seem to have your priorities reversed between a human life and a motorcycle.

First,

Prayers go out to the soldier and his family for a speedy and healthy full recovery!!!

Second,

Thanks to our armed forces for all they do! As those of us who served know Freedom is Never Free!!

Third,

Material things can always be replaced and they are just that material things! ( not really that important in the scheme of life )

Fourth,

You can always buy, rebuild, etc a bike!

Nuff Said!!

I would not want it back even if it never got wrecked with 137k on it. first bike or not. move on and get something else. I also don't understand the guys that get so upset when there bike gets stolen unless they have no insurance. anyone of my bikes can be replaced in a week if stolen or wrecked as long as I'm okay.

lol i pray every day that i'm going to walk down to the garage and get a new motorcyle. If your primary concern in this situation is the motorcycle then you're a prick. Is the bike even yours to go look at? i would think that it still belongs to the owner.

if you read he said the best FIRST motorcycle, never did he say best bike.

although many I know would love for you to follow them for a few laps around a race track with them on a 600 and you on the bike of your choice

A race track really living in fantasy this is the street, mostly. Who can't memorize the same corners and refine the ability on them? Get to a nice straight and see who can go. Torque on a 600?

Butter, I guess you've been told. A bike is just a piece of machinery, a life is much more precious. It's not as if he stole it.
