Max torque - 111.33 ft/lbs @ 7.7K
Max HP (corrected) - 216.20bhp @98760 rpm

Tommy zx14 made 173 on my dyno SAE with 101 TQ ... With a 40 shot and a full bottle it made 216 HP with 126 TQ .. That was on 93 pump gas ..

So if his bike made 173 before the build it would be a 40+ hp gain , that is pretty good if you ask me ...If his made in the low 180s before then it's not so good of a gain ...That is what i asked what the bike made before the build ..

I have to guess he made 7 to 8 HP from the fuel by its self.. If that is the case then you are looking at a 30 HP gain from his build .. We would also have to factor in the ram air that could add 10 hp on the top end of the track .. The motor could well make 226 at speed with the right mapping ..

DynoJet numbers, for Factory Pro numbers multiply by 0.8695.

Applied correction factor was 0.9813 still not sure how its was calculated.
Temp - 76F
Bar - 29.96
%Humidity - 33

Either way you look at it its a strong motor. Remember this is a conservative build. Mild cam, stock buckets, cautious over bore, stock crank, moderate compression. Imagine what you could do with a stroker crank, Busa buckets and a radical cam.

While numbers are an important tuninig tool they are just that, numbers. The real test will be the mile.

Bottom line, Jim's Stage two head gave a 13% increase in hp over a custom mapped motor with a Brock's Alien Head Pipe and PCIII.

The numbers do not do this motor justice. It pulls from the bottom like a freight train and runs hard until the limiter. I might not be fast but the motor is.

The dyno used was a Factory Pro.

No disapointment here Randy. I'm just never satisfied really. Its a problem I have.

I guess an easier way of looking at it is....

With the Brocks pipe and remapped with the Power Commander it made 159 hp on this factory pro dyno. Now its at 200 on this dyno.

So basically its a 40 hp gain from what ever dyno you want to use or base number you want to start with.

So Lee, if you started with 173 on a Dynojet dyno it would be about 213 hp.

As Randy pointed out, this is a "mild" compression engine with stock buckets and very streetable cams and tune.

that 13% hp increase was with the increase over a stock bore motor, or over a 2mm overbore motor with a stock head ?

They are comparing to a stock bore motor. The motor is only 65cc bigger than stock (4.8%), so a 13% power increase seems pretty good to me.

Sweet...Thats a whole bunch of horsepower to pick up GUYS !!!! Not to mention the amount of torque it picked up under the curve....I bet this bike is a BEAST...Put a few more miles on her and she should pick up some more power from it getting looser.....Great Job Jim

Andy at Metric cycles in Houston built the engine. He deserves much of the credit too.

I'm developing a stage 3 head now. This will be strictly for a 1570+cc engine. It will need 28 or 28.5mm buckets and +2mm custom valves, bronze seats etc. But its gotta feed 1600cc at 12000 rpm. I'm guessing at this point that it will have to flow about 290 cfm @ 330-340 fps!!!

Stay tuned

MRX01 is great stuff! Makes good power in an all motor bike. You are wise to use the higher octane fuel. I melted a couple pistons running pump gas in a 14:1 (measured) compression engine.

Great numbers! She should be a runner!

Hey Ryan, did it run lean, or just detonate?? advanced timing? what octane pump?

thx

Jim, how much RPM/topend power and over rev do you think you gain from the head and cam?

Gains were across the board. Strong gains in torque acroos the board. VERY streetable engine.

Step runs showed gains to limiter. Possible gains if limiter is raised. I am not certian what the valve train will withstand so I am staying with the stock limiter for now.

Something like this:

It won't look exactly like that on a FactoryPro or Superflow, but you get the idea.

how fat is that curve?
