I realize it’s a joke but terminal velocity for people is around 120mph. Takes about six seconds to get there.

Free fall is a good example for how important aeros are.
Like Randy says, stable face to earth position gives about 120mph, go into a Track position, head down, arms back, and speed VERY quickly goes to 230mph+/-
(heavier people fall faster, no matter what Newton said...)

Randy's speeds at the upcoming Texas Mile will likely be slower than what some expect.
He is a big guy, and as he says, still new at LSR.
It ain't all about hp, and it ain't all about aeros or total package weight.
You gotta ride the livin' shit outa the bike to reach it's potential.
to Randy for getting out there and doing it.
See you at Texas (and Mojave, and Loring 2010)
Karl

a 500hp bike with a 125lb rider and a 40 mph tailwind can get to 220mph .. better than a 240hp bike with a 250lb rider and a 40 mph headwind .. don't you believe professors..

now i want my dinner i'm not gonna eat 25.00 but a 125.00

The only problem with this engine is your inner voice keeps screaming "You'll never catch me alive copper!"

of course I do , it is just a question of cost/HP and having enough to set a record.... nitrous in an fuel class may be cheaper ...

an 8% gain for the head/cams alone may not be enough to set a gas record.

A bigger engine should benefit even more from a head package. That big engine needs to BREATHE!

Yes, I'm working on another port for a 1570+cc engine.

Each displacement group needs a different MCSA and valve size.

The head on Randles bike would work well up to a 1530. or so depending on useage and cams etc.

There aren't any pictures. The head is on my bike. We were more concerned with getting the head on and the engine running than taking pictures.
