The Ducks Nuts
Im SWB with a PB of only 10.15 so am not a great rider by any means ,but because I did every meeting this year I racked up enough points to get 2 trophies at our local track.
I got modified bike 2009 and rookie of the year.
At 47 I must be the worlds oldest rookie!!! Before I took up this awsome sport I hadnt achieved anything posative in my life so you can imagine how much it means to me.
Now for that elusive 9 second pass , I will never give up.
Now , that's the ducks nuts!!!

Hey good job! you will run 9's soon enough. getting awards is always nice. I finished 3rd in points this year and really should have won it but really screwed up the last weekend for points. Are you done for the year?

CONGRATS!!! thats a great achievement even for someone doing this for a long time! keep up the good work, the 9 sec pass will come before you know it!

Nice Doug! I've struggled with breaking into the 9's and it took a 750 two stroke to pull ahead of me before I got pissed and really opened it up.

The best part of it all is you are having fun. I ran into a guy at my local track who asked lots of questions about my bike and to be honest I thought he was just curious about the bike. I gave him my number and told him if he ever decided to jump back in to cycling again let me know and I would help get him going. This was early summer; he showed up a few weeks ago with an 09 14. He is in his mid fifties and he was really exited about the bike, we are going to do some bolt-ons and he is going to return to drag racing after almost twenty years. That is priceless. Enjoy the trophy, enjoy the bike, enjoy life. There is nothing quite like 150mph on two wheels to let you know you are very, very alive.

My buddy had never ran a 9 a few years back and it was the last race day of the season and he was down to his last run, his best was a 10.06. so right before he pulled out to make a pass I leaned over and told him if he was going to keep riding like a girl that I would have my mom come out and show him how to ride. he went out and went 9.89 on that pass and was done for the year. now his best is a 8.93. not sure what your mods are but you can hit that 9! keep us posted.

Congrats rookie. I am ready to take mine to the track and see what I can still do myself,haven't been down the track on a bike in about 15 years. I bet I am rusty.
