Bar Ends question

I was replacing a scuffed weight at the end of the right handlebar. I loosened the nut and took the end off. There is a bushing inside the weight, it appears to be held in by a simple c- clip. I took the clip out and still could not get the bushing out of the weight. I sprayed some wd40 on it still no luck. I know this seems simple but any suggestions before I step up my efforts and get mideavil with it. Thanks in advance.

good luck, i tried for the life of me to get one out before. ended up buying everything from kawasaki.

my method was a socket in the bar end in a vice, no luck!

when you try to pound it out it seems the insert just soaks up the force. there was a lot of red loctite on the bolt, i wonder if they smeared it on the insert too?

yeah, thats why i did it with a vice to put a good amount of pressure on the piece. which ended up making it useless.

I put kawasaki chrome ends on mine, and tried to remove them from the black ones too. They will break before they come out so don't waste your time.the factory chrome ends came with no bishings for the record. The bushings available seperately and are listed on the parts phish I think a set for both bar ends was about 12 bucks.

The other bad thing is you will have to beat the new ones back in to get the clips back in. It should not be as much troubl as it is.
