Crashed my custom ZX14 and Statefarm is on some bull Shyt!!
Here's the deal, I was in a accident on my completely custom ZX14. My sister-in-law is my State farm agent so when I insured my ZX14 I asked at least 10 times do I need or can I buy extra insurance for my custom work and the answer was no each time all you need is your receipts and pic, so now I have accident and the adjuster is trying to really screw me. I have about $30K of receipts and loads of pics and loads of trophy's from bike shows that I have won, so in my process of setting my claim State farm hires a uncertified motorcycle appraiser to appraise my badly damage ZX14. So he tell me to find some custom zx14's and what they sold for so he could compare to get a value of the bike, I told him who and where am I suppose to find peoples personal info on what the paid for a custom built ZX14, Hayabusa or any other custom bike. So and the appraiser call Roaring Toyz who I have spent Thousands with and asked if they could send the appraiser a email Stating how much they have sold a few of their Custom ZX14's for and knowing that I have spent a lot of money with then the told me the wasn't interested in helping. So to make a long story short State Farm dont wana pay up what my bike is worth and going out of their way to pay as less as possible on my claim, If you have a bike with extras leave State Farm ASAP. You get cheep rates but when its time for them so service you for what your paying for your gonna be in a fight. It will be 30 days Tuesday the 24 on my claim I will keep you posted!!

Thats sucks bro! Check the laws in your state concerning Ins.settlements.I had a company try to fuck me over, but when I threw the state law at them they settled real quick...It falls under unfair settlement practices on the Ins. company and they can get fined and or loss their right to sell Ins. in your state..

Sorry man, but that is how it goes. They will insure a standard value of the bike normally and it reflects in the rates. Allstate wouldnt up mine either. Their book values will not allow for $30,000 coverage on a $11,000 bike with standard policies. There are special policies written for customized vehicles and they usually have you bring it to an agent and have photos taken of it and other requirements(like a garage).

That sucks!!! Your bike was clean and very tastefully done, is there anyway to salvage it? I think you do have to add special coverage for vintage, custom vechicles, or special additions.

Sorry to hear this. I thought most ins. companies would cover addditional accessories and such. I would tell Roying Toys to go to hell too, as you say you have spent thousands of $$$ there and they arent willing to help a loyal customer? Good Luck with all this!

Sorry to hear that, but I think when they told you that you didn't need extra coverage, it would be the small extras that everyone has (exhaust, lowering links, powr commander, etc) not $30 grand worth! Wish you the best of luck with it! On a side note..
FUCK Roaring Toyz. I've called a few times trying to buy shit from them and they are assholes!! I will do without before I buy from roaring toyz.

I can honestly say that I've never seen a used custom bike sell for what the owner had in it. It's kind of like when people buy 30k dollar choppers and end up selling them for less than half that on craigslist. Sucks, but it is what it is.

Agreed...You would have had to take out a seperate rider to pay above blue book...Sorry
Auto Insurance: How to Save with Auto Insurance Riders
Car owners all over the country are continually looking for ways to save their hard earned money on the fact of life that is auto insurance. However, as a car owner and driver you may not know that adding a rider to your existing policy is a great way to save money while adding important coverage.
Simply defined, a rider is an amendment to your existing auto insurance policy. Riders can be used to add coverage or delete coverage you don’t need anymore. Once you go through the process of shopping online for auto insurance quotes from different auto insurance agents, chances are you don’t want to go through that process again unless you absolutely have to, and your insurance needs will change over the years so why not save yourself time and money by adding on a rider to your existing policy?
Listed below are several riders commonly added to auto insurance policies:
• Towing/repair rider - If you experience a flat tire or any other type of car trouble that happens to people across the country every day then you want coverage should you require roadside assistance of any kind.
• Umbrella rider - Should your car be damaged beyond repair in an accident, this rider will pay the difference between how much you owe and how much the car is worth.
• Custom rider - If you enjoy the finer things in life then you usually carry that over into your automobile. Custom stereos, navigation systems, and the like are expensive investments you will want to protect with a custom rider should they be stolen or damaged.
• Rental reimbursement rider - Should your car be damaged or stolen, this rider will pay the cost of the rental car you will need to accomplish your daily tasks while your car is on the shelf.

You didn't mention this (and it might be for a reason)... but sue the other party that was involved. (if there was another party involved)... If it was 'your fault' then like someone said check the laws to see if the insurance company has any obligation by law. I also would at least send letters up the chain of the company explaining your position in the matter. Especially that you asked many times about the coverage. You basically were deceived on your coverage and they knew it at the time. There may be a civil case there. You might have to call out your sister-in-law, which may not be too cool either. I wish you luck and hope that you find some satisfaction out of this. Good luck man!!! Peace..

Sorry about your bike but at least your still here!!! I use Progressive and I just make a copy of the receipt of every new part I buy and add on to the bike and fax it to my agent. Did it with big items like Exhaust/PC111, Aftermarket Wheels, Corbin Seat, Center stand, Carbon Fiber bits....etc... My thought is if it cost over a hundred bucks then my agent gets a copy of the receipt. With all added receipts I have to pay an extra $30-70 and its worth it. It would mean thousands if god forbid I crashed. Your not happened to be selling the black Kawi Jacket.....looks like it may fit me??

Your state farm agent is whacked. Mine showed me clearly on the form I signed that they will pay fair market value for the bike regardless of how much i invested in it and what it does and doesn't have added to it.
You may want to glance at the policy you signed and see if it states such

Classic and vintage cars have insurance companies that insure for what is invested in them.
Isn't there a company that does that for bikes?

I have State Farm. I remember them asking me if I have any custom or performance mods done to it. I'll never tell performance mods though because that'll probably fuck me on my premium, but if I had a big custom as badass as yours, I would tell them.
Just wanted to share that my agent here in Dayton, Ohio asked me if I had any extras to cover.
Sorry about your beautiful 14 man. Good-luck!

Wanted to post up in our defense.
First off we did not refuse to help racerxdetroit. He has asked us to tell the insurance adjuster that we have sold many ZX14's for $40K and over. This would be a lie. We have never sold a ZX14 for close to $40K although we wish we were able to. In fact we sold a brand new 2008 full custom with 0 miles last week for $25K and are happy to get that.
We did tell racerxdetroit we would be happy to give an estimate on replacement cost for his bike if he would send us pictures. We feel this would be a much greater help to him as a replacment build cost would produce a much larger # than what a used custom bike will sell for. I feel this is reasonable and we were and are willing to help out.
We work very hard to provide a good product and good service to our customers and the industry. We would like to be represented correctly.

I was also bent over by state farm, on my 14 when the chain broke and hit my casing braking it, first no problem we will fix every thing but not replace the chain, i was ok with that then we dont think the chain broke the case, our exspert say he,s never seen that happen before, the exspert said he thinks the trans locked up and broke the chain, the complete opposite, of what happen, it was month before they denied my claim, it,s the same agent as yours racerx, it cost me 4700,00 to fix the motor, had to buy another motor and have every thing swiched over, i feel your pain bro, redmichigan

I never asked you to tell State Farm you sold $40K ZX14 1st of all I told them if anyone sold high end ZX14's and if any only had sold a bike for more than $30K it would be Roaring Toyz. I never told them I bought my bike from you I built the bike myself in my garage with plenty of bling I got from Roaring Toyz, in my 1st conversation to Brian I explained he I have $30K worth of recipes plus the blue book value of the a 2006 ZX14 with 15K miles on speaker for with the independent un-certified appraiser that state farm hired, the appraiser just asked for a email from you guys stating that you have sold a few zx14's for over $30K. Brian told him and me that the purple ZX14 sold for $36K but didnt want to send a email saying the purple bike on your web site sold for that kind of money because he didnt want to get involved and that is the truth. I would never ask you guys to lie for me, the insurance company is going out of their way to pay me as less as possible because my bike is a total loss. They asked me what a bike like mine would sale fore new, I know when you guys hit the scene and people were spending money and that red, green and that purple ZX14 from story's I read and when you guys were on super bikes I told them that bikes like that would sale for or the cost to build one would be in the high $20K's to the mid $30K's so thats why I called you guys. The appraiser couldnt find a ZX14 that sold for more than the one you guys had listed for $25K just sold, my response to him was how could you find a ZX14 on the internet that someone sold because people done list what they sold their bikes for on line why would they. His response was Ebay but how many people have bikes like that on Ebay? So when he said that your bike that sold for $25K was the only thing he had to go on was some BS because its a custom bike and my ZX14 was the same bike but a different set up with all my bling and motor work. I did get a upset when I explained to Brian that I had spent good money with Roaring Toyz and I was willing to pay for a email from you guys sent to the independent appraisers email just stating what your high end ZX14's has so for without giving out any ones personal information to help me get a fair settlement from state farm and again he said he didnt want to get involved. I dont want a estimate on what it would cost to build a ZX14 like mine from you guys I have that. I took my bike to a shop because i knew state farm wouldnt let me do my own estimate, my repair estimate from the shop with all the damage to get the ZX14 repaired just like it was came to just over $32K to replace all the damaged parts and the broke frame. So while writing this thread I was angry because the insurance companies are out to make money and people like us that are forced to buy insurance to operate our cars and bikes but when its time to pay up they crap on you if you let them. My intention was not to make Roaring Toyz look like the bad guy, I just couldnt believe I was told that you didnt want to get involved. I didnt send the pics of my bike to you guy because I know without seeing the bike in person you couldnt give me a honest estimate on what the bike would cost without knowing whats all on the bike and in the motor so I said forget it and I'll deal with state farm on my own. I will apologize to Roaring Toyz because I was angry when I posted this thread, I do appreciate Bob emailing me his personal cell number and I will call and forward this response to his email as well . So again I do apologize to Bob and Roaring Toyz for making you look bad on this thread...
