Drag racing without a radiator
Im wondering why you drag racers dont circulate the water through the block without the radiator, then tow the bike back drain the water with a quick disconnect plug in fresh water with a auxiliary pump until cooled then make another run? I have seen many drag cars do this and many that ran gasoline.

too much work ..i'm at the track to have fun ..not work my azz off between rounds..
thats almost like the streetcars putting ice on the block and pushing the car in staging for 1 pass .. but yet it can idle all day in traffic and not get hot .as they drive it to the track ..

i think most true drag cars do that because their not allowed by track rules to run antifreeze.

No freakin way. If you start making rounds a lot of time you make more than 2w pass back to back. Also, to run street classes like a lot of us do, can't do that. It had to have a efficient cooling system.

The weight loss is minimal, and you loose a ton of benefits. Plus you'd have to have a tow vehicle, and you would have to have a pit crew EVERY time you wanted to race, all this for what...... 5 pound weight decrease. I'll pass!

i think its closer to 15 pounds, but seeing where you are removing it from, it doesnt really make sense to me unless you have bars.

I think the worst part about it would be the time consumption part, 2nd is you would need a crew, 3rd a tow vehicle.
I wouldn't remove my radiator.

I think from what ive seen you would be surprised how fast you can cool a drag mill off with cold water pumping through a radiator with a larger than stock fan. They build a box with quick disconnect fittings and a water tank for the loss when plugged in.it would require a tow bike or car and that would take a few extra minutes but not much.
