Thanks to Smokin!

After 3 years and 12500 miles my 06 Ebony ZX-14 developed a slight valve cover leak. I rode with it for a while but finally decided to get it fixed. Lee graciously offered his services and I took it over to his place. He used washers to shim the valve cover tighter and a new gasket with sealer in the proper places and voila no leaks! The bike was spotless when he finished with it and as a bonus we found out that after 3 years and quite a few miles the bike still pulls like new on the dyno . He found and fixed any issues he came across and the bike came back perfect. I would highly recommend Lee to anyone who needs an expert to work on their bike and nobody pays more attention to the details! I feel lucky to have him around.

I got p*ssed at mine, every time the valve cover leak was fixed it would come back 6K later. I should've took it to smokin' instead of being pissed off at the warranty "Kawasaki" folks . But I never liked the bike after the 3rd oil leak repair, and glad its gone!

I may get a Connie 14, from what I'm seeing on Kawi forums they are leaking too after some mileage which has me hesitant.

Smokin' and Bigdtd, miss riding with you guys and I'm back in FL hope to see you!

Steve as soon as i get a new chain i'm going to start street riding again ...

As of now Daves bike is not leaking , but we will watch it closely and see if it becomes a problem again .. My hope is the new gasket and washers will fix it forever .. What i did find out is the old gasket was very hard compared to the new one .. I believe the heat caused the gasket to get hard and that is the main cause of the oil leaking ...

Ya Lee, last weekend I was checking the coolant level, and decided I needed to add some. When I took the lean mean fat grilling machine cover off I saw the oil on the left side of the motor..... It's a 2007 blue stocker.... only got the qwick pipes on it. I have about 11,000 miles on it also. gimme a call sometime. (86*)944-1027 <--- Lakeland area code

We always have a good time on the Lakes Ride, as they call it. I didn't get to stay for the Saturday night party this time. You'll have to make the ride next year. Lot of good people. We even let Yamaha's join in on the ride. LOL
