They are getting all excited for mid/high 9 second runs with a lot of prep work.. I would think with that much hp they would go faster than that. Lee how fast have you been on one?

With a street tire and the cats removed but still stock mufflers 9.80s and the clutch was slipping bad .... On Tims bike with a slick 9.75 ... I only got one pass and Tim told me to make it an easy pass ,I did make a very easy pass .. I think i could have got it in the 9.60s with a few more passes ... Keep in mind that the bikes shown in the video are slammed , strapped, Holeshot push button shifter , weight removed and running MR9 fuel ... If i had all those mods i'm sure i could have gone 9.50s maybe a bit faster ...
ZX14 with less mods on pump gas 8.70s ... Noobys zx14 on MR9 fuel 8.60s !!!!
A Vmax is not the best pick to make a drag bike ....

I just find it funny that instead of congradulating the guy who went fastest on a Vmax they all got together with three great riders and tryed to beat his times. I have no desire on my bike to beat any of the peoples here times(wouldent be able to do it anyway) I just say to myself thats wicket great job guys. I guess some of those guys just have somethin to prove.....

Some people have a more competitive mind set. Its not necessairly about beating HIM, its just about beating beatable records. I see nothing wrong with that..

Remember the conversation about people with their elbows cocked way up in the air? It's interesting to watch Cornell leave the line and the elbow is still sticking straight up past the 60 foot mark...
You have to wonder how much the fly-by-wire throttle is holding the bike back. The mph is not so great for a 200 hp bike. Even with Gleason on the bike, the mph is nothing great.

I don't know about the elbow thing ...lol... But i'm happy to see he used a street tire and not a drag slick ...I know the bike is down to 550 pounds and it looks like the rider is about my size and weight .. I give Jon at UFO an A+ for going that fast with street rubber ..

Well, I'm not as impressed, Lee. Basically the bike/rider combo is 15 lbs. heavier than mine. More wheelbase, more wheel hp, more skilled rider...and .20 slower ET with equal or less mph as well.
From what I understand, the bikes, for the most part, are still doing 1.5 60 foots at 66.9"?
On the plus side, it keeps Nooby from busting MY balls for a while.

Well Shane i'm impressed because he did it on a street tire unlike the others that thought you had to use a slick .. I agree as a hole the Vmax doesn't impress me .. On paper the bike should be much much faster ..

Maybe the secret will be unlocked sometime soon, or maybe it is just a bad deisgn. Nonetheless, I am sure that an 8 second ET is coming. Then it will be like the second coming of Christ over there!
I guess the days of them complaining about a ZX-14 utilizing a lowering strap are long gone.

I'm sure we will see 8s soon , but mod for mod the zx14 and Busa still wins hands down ...I'm sure a strap on a Vmax will become standard mod ..I bet they will tell us it's a factory part like the race ECU ...lol ____________
