Are we about to lose Suzuki?
Hi All,
About a month ago I talked to a salesperson at Suzuki and he said there will be changes to the dealership in the coming months. Well looking at the Suzuki web site and seeing they have not announced the 2010 models has me wondering if Suzuki is going to go the way of Buell??? Understanding that used Suzuki's at a local (Non Suzuki) dealership is difficult to finance, does anyone out there know the Status of Suzuki?
Thanks Rob

Could this be the end of the big 4? Look at how many manufacturers died in the Great Depression. Maybe the Great Recession will kill off a bunch too.

FWIW, the local dealer said that the 2010's will not be announced until after the first of the year.

Maybe just US is affected?
Canadian site already shows the new models, and a link to the European site recently showed the colors there.
BTW, you DO realize that we are only wondering about BNG, right?

Just checked out the canookian website and I dont get that out of it... sure there are some 2010s listed, but there are also lots of blank areas where 09 models are still shown so I'd hazard to say you could be correct, but maybe not?

Suzuki builds auto's, etc. No way Suzuki is going under. Kawasaki Heavy Industries
is Huge, ship building, etc. They do sub cotract work in the aviation industry, hence their
designs in Ran Air on bikes back in the 90's was R&D from aircraft dept. I assure you we
will have a 2010 Busa to deal with.. Check the UK they get all the new bikes 1st.

I have never owned a Suzy, however, it's nice to see them around. I am used to see the big four and like to see all Euro makes as well. Competition is good, for benefit of us all.

Newf14,
Do you have the updated 2010 material or are you ordering the actual bikes?

If we were losing Suzuki they wouldn't be busy signing riders for next year in MotoGP, Superbikes, Offroad etc.
It's not unusual for them to be announcing their new years model line-up late in the year. I don't know if any of the major bikes like the 'Busa are due for replacing yet, so it will most likely just be color changes. Why would they announce changes this early anyway when dealers still have unsold 2009 stock and the new machines don't arrive for ages?

Well, after waiting 3 months for a ZX-14 I'm in nothing but agreement with your thinking.
Still in Rome??
This is the first time I can remember any Manufacturing waiting this long to announce the 2010's. I guess my concern is in the Orlando area we have lost 2 dealerships (granted it was the same owner) and the Daytona Dealership says changes are coming??? Just throwing it out there to see if anyone knows anything.

I'm sure they are just taking some time to repaint the 09's and call them 10's in a cost saving strategy...lol...

Rob, we've lost some dealers too, no doubt more will sadly go the same way. We do however have 2010 ZX-14's available now in Metallic Spark Black and a two-tone Black and Gray.
