I want two. I wish someone that has spent some $$ at carpenters would call him and ask how much for a group purchase. Man he does this for his engine kits.

Am I missing something?? No one makes a ctt for a 14? Is that why everyone is trying to modify a zx12? Just want to get on the same page as everyone else.

You can get a manual tensioner from APE. You get get a 12R tensioner and modify it to eliminate start up rattle, and it is an automatic tensioner which requires no maintenance.

Simple, yes?

That's simple enough! I missed all that somewhere. I assumed it was a manual cct, not a auto... I know, I know.. I never claimed to be the brightest crayon in the box

Best prce yet. Good Find.

If Everyone that wants one would CALL Bob Carpenter Racing Engines and let him know
just how many 14 owners want this CCT. I called several weeks ago and he said call back
later. Well it later, calling him again today.

I have one on a old FJ1200. Bob advised not to use a manual CCT on the ZX-14 due to the

cam chain design. His words......not mine. Just repeating what Bob Carpinter Racing

told me on tehphone three weeks ago. And to call back in a few weeks. You really do

need to have "The Touch" with a manual APE CCT. But no problems on the old FJ1200

52,000 Fun miles from a 1986 model. had it 18 years now. I just don't want to have to

worry about does the CCT need me to adjust as I take more long trips on my 14 now that I

have more free time during the summer. :-)

Nothing wrong with the modded zx12 tensioner. The only mod is to make it fit correctly not to the mechanism which is superior to the 14's.

4 minutes of rattle, any rattle on new bike is not right. Put a slick on that turbo and see where the weak link in the engine is.

Bob Carpenter and several other engine builders want a stronger cam chain for the 14.
And a different design CCT for the 14.

Have you checked your lob centers lately? 400 passes, I bet you need to degree the cams.
If you have not already done so. If not Don't Worry. Race it until it does break.
