I could run 6 1/8 mile runs on a 1/2 gallon of MR9 ... But you need at least a gallon in the tank to start off with... I never run less than 1 and 1/2 gallons of fuel in my bike but i guess you could run a bit less and not starve the pump ..

I use a 1 quart funnel with an on off spout. I start off with 5 quarts and then after each pass I add 1 quart. I keep it this close because of draining it when I get home.

I just pull the hose off of the fuel pump (the one with the red clilp) then I cycle the key on and off slowly until its empty. Then I run the bike until it dies, which gets out all remaining MR9. I put in about 1/4 gallon of pump gas and run the bike until I smell pump gas coming out of the exhaust. MR9 is lethal to your fuel injectors and valves if left in the bike. I saw a guy at the track pouring rust out of his Busa tank because MR9 ate the coating in his gas tank off.

Smoke, do you replace the pump gasket after each drain?

Why pull off the pump? The quick disconnect is easier isn't it?

Gilbjj, I have emptied my tank both ways and find it a bit more time consuming to remove the pump. I don't like disconnecting the electrical connectors or removing the pump. I also drain it with 3/8 hose back into the MR9 can......I can't afford to waste a drop of it.

I believe it..... isn't it like $25 a gallon? I'll be converting my race bike to e85 later next year once I get my times dialed in. I want to see if that cheap fuel will make more power. I think the real advantage will be with a wet nitrous system installed. I could run as much nitrous as the motor would hold and e85 will never pre-ignite. There will be a couple issues though, like getting it tuned, and having the correct size fuel nozzles (you have to use about 30% more fuel).

Its about $25-30 a gallon...........Good luck with your E85 conversion. I know nothing about that stuff.

Why would you switch to e85?? And it takes 20-30percent more fuel to equal the same as reg unleaded? That sounds like a bunch of work for nothing.

It makes more power being the biggest reason. There are several all motor hondas in my area who gained 2 tenths (11.7-11.5 second cars) by ONLY switching to e85 and tuning for the same a/f ratio. These cars make it to every test n tune possible, so it's not just a fluke either. Do a little research, e85 makes a touch more power then pump.
PLUS: When I eventually run nitrous, I can spray to my hearts delight. e85 is about 110 octane.
PLUS: e85 runs very cool, and while I've never had a problem with my bike overheating, some people have had that problem.

MR9 is great on motor and only $106 for a five gallon can. MRXO1 is good on motor and great on spray for only $100 for a five gallon can. Both fuels should be stored sealed and cool for best performance.
