tsukigi
looking to get a sidewinder for next year, i've seen many brocks and many muzzys and not any tsukigi sidewinders. has anyone used this pipe?. just the fact that no one has this pipe makes me want it on that fact alone. that's the rebel in me lol. i've heard this pipe is a good pipe but not from anyone on a 14, so if you have this pipe or have info or a opinion i'd like to hear from you. i definitely am going to a sidewinder but it's a good amount of money and i want the best pipe for the 14.

I have yet to install my Cannon but it is top quality. The welds are beautiful and the pipes fit so snug I think it would hold together without the sprig clips. Only thing, at 17 lbs it is nearly twice the weight of a Brocks 4-2-1 meg. A light pipe that makes good power is slightly better than a sturdier, heavier pipe that makes good power, IMO. plus you have Brock's maps. Check the weight of the Tsukidgi sidewinder. High quality materials are heavy. Brocks is 5 lbs. FIVE POUNDS!
If your main objective is performance, spend a few hundred more and go with Brocks and the peace of mind you will enjoy by knowing you have the best will be worth the extra cash. Shop around for used Brocks to see how you like it. You will probably be able to sell it if you feel you need a brand new pipe.

I bought my Tsukigi for that exact reason wanted my bike to be different. I really like my pipe and more so now that i got it ceramic coated. Its a high quality pipe the only downfall i could see is it is a bit heavy. I threw it on a scale to see how it matched up with shanes Brocks exhaust and it was about the same but mine didnt have the baffle in it yet.

thanks gentlemen for the input. if i eliminate the tsukigi pipe because of weight, then which is best muzzy or brock? not too concern with the map support i'll be doing my own map although i hear brocks support is very good and have not always been pleased with muzzy i am looking at the money issue also.

Yes I did run the Tsukigi for a while. If you look at the Schnitz website under XZ-14 Tsukigi. sidewinder, you'll see a pic of it on my bike at the time.
Honestly, the quality of the welds is unbeatable, and all of the headers are welded together and to the collector, so theres only like 2 pieces of pipe you need to assemble, the collector to the cone, and of course the headers to your bike. The radiator bracket is garbage though.
Performance wise, I just couldn't run the same numbers with the Tsukigi that I did with the Muzzy. Just seemed that I had lost most of my low end power.
Fit and finish is really nice.
Just an honest feedback.

The tsukigi sure does look nice. I have had the m14 prostock sidewinder (never put it on my bike though), and I now have the brocks sidewinder (it's on my bike but I've done nothing other then ride it around the block. Sundays test n tune was rained out....). The muzzy had nicer welds, and I believe it was a touch heavier. It was a very nice looking exhaust though! The downside of the muzzy's pipe is you HAVE to run the filter relocator. With the Brocks, I can keep the filter in place, but I'm pretty sure I'll have to remove the pipe to get the filter screwed off. That's a pita. One major complaint I have against the brocks is it's so many different pieces. I would rather it be a 2 piece system like the tsukigi. I have to take it all apart again because it's leaking. That should be an easy fix, it just takes time. I used rtv copper sealant, but clearly not enough...... I'll get some pics up later.

I do agree with brocks being a pain in the ass. I had to take all the exhaust off to drop the oil pan 2 weeks ago. That's my only "complaint" if you want to call it that. I'd choose brock over muzzy ANYDAY!
