Area P or Brocks?
Been looking into getting a new pipe, I like the twin can look so am really only interested in that. I was looking at Brock's which are rather expensive to go with a dual system. Just had a look at the Area P slip on's and they seem nice but not sure how good they are since I'm still stuck with the stock headers. I don't drag race, only street so max horsepower isn't all important, mostly going for weight loss and hopefully a decent exhaust note while not being too loud. How does the Area P compare to Brocks for quality and is there any map support available from them? Thx for the help.

Area P quality is fantastic, and they can build custom requests. Brock's quality is great as well. You are pretty safe with either.
My exhaust is a Brock full header, and Area P custom muffler:

So, I can't suggest one over the other.

I would make sure that the company used backup gas on the inside of the pipe before they welded it.
So another words out of the two companies which ever one use backup gas that would be my choice..
If both companies used backup gas I would go for lowest price.

Shane, Think it is worth while to put just the slip ones from Area P on with the stock headers? Or would I not really gain anything by doing that other than a different exhaust note?

Well, they will be a lot lighter. I believe you might see something hp-wise at high rpm, since the bike is pretty richly mapped from the factory. I think Area P has dyno charts on their site.

Have Area P can's on now they are built very well , sound good not to loud , if your easy, but at 7000 rpm up they are loud , from a deep growel to a snareley screem .
runing a power comander with them , common sense they flow more, alot more, 2" per pipe hard to get the same flow out of a single pipe.
nice stainless const., fake carbon fiber stick on covering, but it is thick has held up well !
They don't look out of place like the fat factory can's.
as for power don't know never rode a stock 14 traded 2 bikes for it , it will snap the front wheel of the deck at about 2800 rpm all the way to 80 mph , thats good for me , only had 1 chance to top end at 180 it was still climbing fast . but then traffic came about , Area P 's seemed to work fine , have another header to test , but like the stock header/ area p combo

Ummm...I have a couple of Area P mufflers and there is no "fake carbon fiber stick on covering". In fact, they use a very high grade carbon.

Shane I am wrong then , did think they were area p , can't find any name on them , was told by some , tek at a bike shop, anyway they look like area p , but for sure , have a fake wrap, thats fine they are muffler's light weight , will work fine for now.
after I figure out what i want to change, thinking the Brock's way , what ever I DO will be from what some of the people have done here, lot's good info here.
like spending all the time I have just to ride the hell out of the bike , like it he way it is!
after 23 motorcycles in life the 14 is my fav.
Have spare stock header, will prob. cut off "Y" chamber , weld up my own tail sect. ,haven't found exactly the right muffler yet !

do whatever you are looking to gain....looks, sound, or peformance. Ultimately its your bike and you need to do what you would
love for it. Performance wise I would go with a full brocks over the area p. But for looks the area P does look good.

Anyone know who make's the fake carbon wrap, can's , the fit finish, stainless fittings are well done , but the stick on fake fiber is a let down.

We only manufacture with 100% pure carbon fiber materials. We don't offer any "wraps". Post a picture of the "fake carbon fiber wrap" and perhaps we can help you figure out who's they are.

u sure man? I was pretty sure that last time I was by you didn't notice BUT I could see through the crack of the door straight into that sweat shop you run!! There must have been at least 150 chinese infants in there and from what I could tell they were sorting through a giant pile of what looked like nasty old macdonalds straws ... I could see a group of kids meticulously painting each used dirty straw black, while others were busy weaving them into your "100% pure carbon fiber materials"
fess up!
