I have a couple questions about shaving the head on a zx14

Questions.

1.Do we need to drop the engine to remove the head or does it just take tilting the engine to remove the head?

2.How much to shave off the head and how much horsepower can you make from shaving the head and putting on a smaller head gasket?

3.What is the best setting for the timing?

1 .... Pull the motor , makes life a bit easier ..

2.....Don't mill over 20 thou ... Thin head gasket i believe is about 10 thou thinner .. HP power ( guess) is about 3 to 4 HP gain

3..... 105 105

4.... Because you didn't ask .... Send the head out and have it ported while you have it off ..No better time to get it done ..

Sorry about that I actually have two engines..
My original engine is already out of the motorcycle so I can start having that had worked..

The original engines is a 06 and the engine is in the motorcycle now is in a 07.. So I should have no problem on swapping the heads.

Thanks so much smokinZX14
