09 vmax vs 14
Hey guys, I ride an '08 14 and my brother rides an '09 Vmax. My bike has a full Brocks Gen 3 system on it, PC with Brocks street map, KN and light weight battery. My brothers Vmax has an UFO 4 into 1, UFO's FI Tuner, tall velocity stacks, 4 KN filters, and a full CF body kit(The CF knocked off 8 Lbs or so and looks bad as hell)
We haven't taken them to the track yet but am planning on doing so this winter. We have run them a few times against each other and I thought you guys would be interested in the results.
IN 2nd or 3rd gear roll ons, he'll pull me a bike lenght for a second, then I'll run him down and go by. Running them hard through the gears (2-4) I'll pull him 1-1.5 lenghts per gear. And of course, the faster we go the more I pull him...
The mods he's made to his bike have made a big difference in power and speed...it's a lot faster than stock, but then so is mine. A guy I know has a stock 14 and we're going to do some comparisons against his bike with me riding it.
Also looking forward to running them against each other at the track.

Dan bring them both down to Bradenton Motorsports Park Bradenton, Florida on Oct 15 test and tune .. 6:00 to 11:00 .. There will be a few Vmaxs there as well as a few zx14s ..
As far as who is faster that is up to the rider ... But as far as what bike is faster has allready been proven ...The zx14 wins hands down , 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile makes no difference..

Should post up that awesome thread you did on the zx14 to 09vmax shootout. I would look it up but I'm too lazy.

Smokin have you seen the prices for a gen1 v max? I wouldnt mind owning one but no way I will pay those asking prices,

Yup Wee i would like to pick up a clean Gen 1 but a clean one will bring more money that a clean 06 zx14 .. Too much for me ....

Way stuff is right now I'm shocked you can't get a killer deal on one right now. no other bikes are selling unless they are a give away price.

So true ..What gets me is kawi,suke,yamahammer, hondukey all went up on new bike msrp this year ..

Got a friend who's trying to trade his really clean, badass custom built chopper: 122rwhp Revtec engine with a oddball exhaust (I think its a Super Trapp but not sure) that makes his Vtwin sound more like a Ducati than a Harley--- I actually,,, suprisingly,,, liked the exotic quick revving sound. It's appraised at $12-$16k depending on market conditions, but he's been trying to sell it for 1 year now at $10k. Now he asked if I could get a trade worked out for a sport bike. He doesnt know ANYTHING about, or have an opinion of, any type of sport bikes so he just said "I dont want a big bike like yours or a Busa, I would actually be happy with a new 600 or maybe a older 600 or 750 and a bit of cash". About ready to buy a 06 R6 and trade him. Keep and ride it for a year or so until the market turns and then sell it for twice the R6 cost!

Ya 10,500 or better for a new 600 give me a break. these dealers like in my town that's smaller then big cities are going to be closing so fast. I myself will never buy a New Busa or zx 14 for what the price is now. wiat 6 months and you can buy a low milage one with mods for thousands cheaper then new.

+1 on that one. Your better off waiting for someone who gets tired of their steed.
It would have practically nothing in mileage and would also be just as clean as off
the showroom floor. You would save alot. The recession is the time when cash
speaks.....people have tough times and you make out very well.

i sold a 90 vmax that was in good shape but needed the carbs rebuilt just before i left for deployment. Needed the cash at the time and it had been sitting in the same spot since I got it so i sold it for what i had in it. $500 bones. if i hadn't needed to get rid of it that day i've got no doubt that it would have gone for $1500-2000.

Ask the guys at Wild Bros racing. They did it a couple of years ago at maxton on a tricked out gen1 with a big motor and fuel injection. I'm pretty sure that Shane has seen it run before.

Now that's what I figured would have to be done . It needs all the bells and whistles . The 14 don't need a whle lot to be 200mph machine
