VMAX owner admits he's got nothing for me!
Hey all. First wanted to say hi as this is my first post. Ive gotten some great info over the last 6 months from this forum and just decided to join, so ,hi!
I havent been able to ride for almost two months due to surgery on my left leg. I have been starting my bikes every week, but knew they should be taken out and ridden. I asked my brother to come over and exercise my babies and he was happy to do it!
He bought a 650 Ninja which is really a good all around bike but wanted something faster to give me a run. He always wanted a VMAX and bought an 06 as his muscle bike.
When he came over , i put him on my Valkyrie first. He came back with a smile on his face and really liked it. Its a great touring bike. Next I put him on my Z1000. Again he came back with a smile on his face. His feeling was the same as mine which is the 1000 is a great do everything bike. Last I put him on my 2008 zx14. I've done a couple small mods like extending the swingarm, d@d slip ons, lowered it, and went one down, two up on the gearing. Last mod was a shinko drag radial to keep it hooked.
The expression on his face when he returned was priceless. Kinda like a kid that just lost his virginity, and got caught by the girls father!
He just kept shaking his head saying "dude that thing is sick, that thing is sick!"
After a few minutes he looked my direction with his head hanging a little low and said, "dude, my VMAX has nothing for ya"
He offered to come over next weekend and excercise the stable again but Im pretty sure the 14 is his favorite!

I wish everyone could experience the raw power of these bikes. That being said, I don't think there is anyone that will dispute that the 06 vmax and zx14 are even comparable when it comes to power. It's the new vmax that has stirred up all the drama...... (lee enters conversation).....

My bother and i have gone back and forth for years over who is faster. Im 47 and he's 51 and the battle started on bicycles 40 years ago. He won the last battle with a heavily modded supercharged Cobra over my lighter modded convertable Cobra. I couldnt bring myself to cut the car up so I shifted to bikes after being off them for 16 years. I'm thinking of adding a bottle as a young kid at work with a 9.40 civic is talking smack!

The old max wasn't even competition for a zx11, let alone the 14........nothing even resembling a match there. Heck the new MUCH bigger engined max still can't get the job done.

My brother told me later that he thought my z1000 would give his VMAX a run! Gotta love that 14!

no zx11 in 1985, but there was a ninja 900, I never lost to any of those, never saw a zx 900 run better than my 85 v-max at Green Valley either, not bad for a cruiser, who makes a cruiser today that can beat the v-max?

Welcome! Good story, so I guess now we need to hear about the new V-Max v/s the ZX14.

I didnt mean to stur up any VMAX to 14 hard feelings. As i've gotten older, ive learned it means less about who makes it, and more about getting out there and riding. The friendly competition is with my brother, not his bike. With that being said, my 14 is the fastest coolest bike i,ve ever owned and puts a smile on my face every time im on it!
I LOVE THIS THING!
