Front straps

Ive now only got 36 days till I get my liscence back and want to find out something that has been on my mind for a while.
My front strap has the cam buckle attached directly to the caliper bracket , when street riding , should I remove the trap completely or just loosen it to allow full travel in the forks?
Thanks for any advice.

BE CAREFUL with it loose, matter of fact, I wouldn't ride with it loose bc the buckle will beat your radiator to death! Mine Is hooked up the same way, and it prob isn't the "right" thing to do, but on the street I just pull it a little snug so it dosent hit the radiator. I don't do twisties, just usually riding to town and back, stuff like that.

My buckle is straight onto the caliper bracket , not midway up the strap.
I've heard of the other setup banging around.
Anyone with my type leave it on permanently?
Thanks Eclipse.

I remove the strap for street riding and I return the rear to the normal height. It's worth it to get the best out of the bike.

At 65" it should never come up on the street. With my experiences it will spin before ever trying to lift the wheel.

Really? Around here all it will do is blow the tire off, no matter where you are. Now I don't run 8 psi on the street either, that could have a little to doi with it

There's no way my streets will hold my bike at 64 inches and with the strap tight it's even worse. but as low as I go on the street is 18 psi so maybe that's why

I agree with eklipse and Bently. I'm at 64" and I have yet to find a street around here to hold.

I've heard the shinko slick will hook anywhere, wish I could use it in the races I run. Maybe I should get one and try to put some groves in it.
