The cross-head screws on Japanese motorcycles are actually "JIS" or Japanese Industry Standard. I bought myself a brand new #2 Philips screwdriver with the intention of pulling the flies, but I was still unhappy with the fit in the screw head. Even heating the screw with a soldering iron, it was clear that screw head damage was likley.

Researching on Google I found that JIS and Philips are different specifications. I bought a set of 3 JIS screwdrivers. The fit is perfect and I had the flies out in a couple of minutes.

Not expensive: JIS screwdrivers

I stripped one of mine with a screwdriver. Now I actually blame you, Wee.

Nobody but you apparently knew about the JIS thing...and you did not warn me personally.

I'll remember that!

LOL sorry, I noticed the JIS screwdrivers in a bike magazine a few years ago. then when people started stripping the screws it made sense.

Good exhaust :-) I have the Polished Stainless can. Sure is easy to repack, no rivets to drill out :-) I also like the O2 threaded port the M14 has for a Data Logger or air/Fuel LCD.
