Get a GRIP! How to put grips on solid?
Hi,
Want to change my grips. Got the old ones off no problem....tried the new ones on with some water...look great! What is the best way so the grips don't slide and slip around in the middle or while your really holding on???
I've heard a few things like hairspray, spit, water and let dry or even glue! What do you guys do as I have never done this before. I'd like to do it in the next 12H so any good input would be great input.
Thanks,
KNUTS

I have used compressed air. The rubber will open up as you spray the air in the grip. It takes a bit but works.

Good idea nooby, bever thought of that! If you already have used the water you could use the compressor to blow the water out from under the grip, maybe... Or let it dry..

After the compressed air to remove, use hair spray to glue them back.

14nooby is correct. Warm the grip up first to soften it, direct a jet of compressed air into it, about 60psi is needed and simultaneously slide it over the bar end.

Be sure to use the hairspray to keep them in place after getting them on with compressed air. They will slip down to the bar ends otherwise and lock the throttle.

Is hairspray just as good as GRIP GLUE?

I have always used hairspray. Get the cheap extra hold stuff, works like a charm and they dont come off. Ihave changed prolly 10 sets of grips on various bikes nary a one has moved after they have dried.
