JE recomends a deglaze, I would too if you are doing new rings. My friends "Drop Ins" from Je wouldn't fit unless he did a deglaze.
I would definataly measure a few times before you just throw them in.

Unless you have the proper Diamond hone your are not going to deglaze anything ..

The bores are Nikasil plated and you cant just hone them out like a steel bore. Screw it up and you will have to send the case off to be Nikasil plated again.
Use red scotchbrite on the bores to deglaze them.

I dont, he sent the block to Millennium Technologies with measurements and they did it for him. it was around 90 dollars shipped back, and a week turn around.

I'd say the new rings seated fine, bike doesn't smoke and has great compression.

How is it honed, and what do you use?
Due to the hardness of the coating and its silicon carbide content, we must use diamonds to hone the cylinder bore. Diamonds alone will not do the job correctly. Special honing tools and honing machines are also important. We have our own design of honing tool ensuring that all our bores are straight and round within ± .00025". We are also capable of much tighter tolerances in necessary situations. Instead of horizontal hones, we use only vertical hones to ensure that the cylinder bore is square with the deck and that it receives a uniform crosshatch

For Nikasil cylinders, 320 grit ball hone with oil for 5 to 10 seconds to deglaze and help seat rings, been doing this for at least 20 yrs. on TZ250 cylinders which are Nikasil or you can use red scotch brite if you like
