I HATE HSBC

Never again will I EVER get a loan through HSBC. It stands for Horrible Shitty Banking Company. Steer clear of them. If you ever need to contact them, you have to wait over 30 minutes on the phone before you ever speak to a person, and they "can't" provide the info you are looking for. I hope Horrible Shitty Banking Company goes bankrupt. What a terrible bank. And to top it off, I can't navigate through their internet maze to even make my damn payment.

I'm going to refi. Who should I go through? I have really good credit and I owe about 5.5k.

I closed my account with them too. Had a Visa thru them. Do Not use anyone who has
GE money credit too. Texaco/Chevron and Ebay credit Card are just a few that use GE too. Same crap, will hit you with High percent loan changes and now yearly fee's. Customer Service,
what a Joke. Wait for ever to get someone that does not understand English. I was never late Ever and they Lowered my credit limit. Duh........... my parents passed away last year and I paid off everything and they still went UP on my account. And when I did pay off everything No one has turned in GOOD credit. I have been on the phone every month trying
to get them to turn In Good credit sigh. Screw them.

Yeah and they just adjusted the way they calculate the monthly payment from 4% to 4.5% and of course your payments go up accordingly. I assumed what you signed on is what they have to abide by, but oh well it will be paid of soon.

Dont' forget, they are also trying to make up for all the people that defaulted on those cards. These are people that had no business with a credit card. Now, everyone else that can "afford it", has to pay more for those that couldn't.

I paid all mine off, then cut them up, put them in an envelope, and sent them back too them. Don't do that. It now shows on my credit "account closed", which doesn't look good. Better to just pay them off, cut them up, and live with having the "account", even though there is no balance.

?? If you pay off and YOU close the account Paid In Full it looks like to me your credit score will go Up as I had too many accounts for the income I had last year. I was reading on one of the credit reporting companies that You need to reduce the accounts you have to make your score Higher. And Good Luck getting any of the lenders to Report Pay Off In full.
I just checked and CITI Bank still has not sent in that I have paid my Line of Credit in full.

Hi gilberjj, I seen you post on another site before & also on youtube, You gave a good exhaust review. Good to see you here. I also have nothing good to say about HSBC. Not sure if you were questioning how to get to part where to pay bill, but I'll see if I can help. HRSACCOUNT.COM is the site to go to. Put in the number on your Kawasaki credit card then zip code & enter. That brings you to another page where you'll enter your username then password & enter. Than you'll have the pleasure of seeing your balance statement for each month. Scroll down to pay my bill & click there. That will bring you to yet another page where you click on the access online bill pay system. From there it will bring you to yet another screen where you click on the drop down menu to decide which account payment will come from & enter all other bill pay related info. I do not have anything good to say about them either. One option is maybe get hooked up with a local credit union, as they most of the time will have better rates than banks on these types of loans. I agree with wheelie & iflyems, keep the account even if paid off. It's good for other creditors to see payment history, the ratio of available credit to credit used & longevity of credit to each creditor (whether pissed off at them for any reason or not) Good luck gilberjj.

Bingo!! Even if the accounts paid off in full. Because "you" closed the accounts, they still show as "closed" which doesn't look good.
Best thing to do is cut up the cards, and keep them open. It's a double edge sword really. Too many accounts; lower score. Close the accounts; lower score.

I beg to differ.

My credit score raised from mid 732' to 848 after I cancelled 2 cards that I kept a zero balance on.

When i bought my wife her new 08 Honda the finance mgr said he has never seen anyone with mid 800 credit score. So my wife was curious and we ran hers ... 827.

I'm a firm believer of havign zero debt. the 'available' balances on open credit cards count the same as if you had it in your hand or just available, it's total possible debt.

when you close a card your debt to income ration drops hence the lower credit score. The problem is not the closed credit cards, it's the debt on the other side of the equation.

Simple math ...

10 / 5 = 50%
10 / 2 = 20%

Sure it's nice to have that lower debt ratio, but most lenders only weight that proportionately to other metrics, such as the unchanged total debt of 10.

Get the total debt down low enough and anybody will loan you anything.

Of course just when we think we've got it figured out, they'll change the rules.

Again, as it says on the coins ... "In God We Trust" [all other pay cash.] hehehe

GE Money Credit is bad about raising your intrest and terrible Customer Service. Texaco, Paypal Visa,

Care One Credit for health services...teeth, hearing aids etc just to name a few that use GE

to expedite these credit cards. GE and HSBC Stay Away!!!!

I dislike HSBC also. My Kawi is through them and they lower my limit on a monthly basis. I have just now started to watch my payments as it seems they get held until the last minute thus incurring a late charge.

Cheers

hey J call 943-0740 and give them a visit. A local credit union near your place. Ive been with them for 5+ years. anyone can join. They might be able to help with the refi but more importantly is the long term. easy web site too. AND a real person to talk to if needed. After a short time I am able to secure a loan just by a phone call. I was at the bike shop with a check in hand in less than an hour. they have home financing as well. open saturdays. hope that helps..ps HSBC had their way with me in the past too Darin

Here is a subject I know. The ideal set-up is to have 2-3 major credit cards with a high limit but low balance. This will give you the highest score when it comes to CC. If you have more then three, pay them off and close the account. If you have 2 and don't want to use the account anymore just cut them up but DO NOT CLOSE THE ACCOUNT or it will lower your score. There are many factors that affect your score but when it comes to CC this is the way to go.

Do not ever go over 50% of the total line of credit, this will have a negative impact on your score as well.
