Piped 07 14 vs 06 busa with 50 shot, fair race?
Anyway I got a 07 14 with tuskigi (spelling) full exhaust, pc111, aftermarket filter, flies out stock length. Have about 15k on her. My buddy has an 06 busa with slip ons, yosh, pc111, and 50 dry shot at 6" over. I weigh about 230 hes about 260 we both are what I would say experienced riders, both 35 have been riding since 16 (licensed). We are going to the track for the first time he think he is going to eat my 14 up. I traded my 05 1397 busa on my 14 by the way. Should be fairly close?

He *should* drag you down the track sideways...
But it will come down to rider skill...as always..

thats kinda what I thought, he is 30lbs, but I am sure that 50 shot makes that a mute point. 6" over make a huge difference. I rode the thing and can launch at 6g with no problem.

Just the extended swingarm is good for near half a second. That don't include the 50 shot... Sorry but he's fixin to steal your lunch and eat it in front of you. Wish you the best of luck, maybe he will spin.

I think it would be a better race if the 14 has the 50 shot and the busa has the pipe

Sounds just like a race between me and a friend of mine. I have a 2006 Busa which at the time was stone stock except -1 front sprocket +1 rear sprocket, PC3 and a 50hp shot of nitrous and I weighed 270lbs suited. My bike made 149hp NA and 200hp on nitrous. My friend has a 2008 ZX14R with -1 front sprocket, +2 rear sprocket, Yosh full pipe, BMC filter, no flies, PC3 and he weighs 230lbs. His bike made 181hp on the same dyno.
We never had a chance to race from a dig but I am sure it would have been close to the 1/8th and then I would pull a few bikes at the qtr. On a roll-on from 2nd gear at about 50mph to 5th gear at about 150mph, I pulled him by about 5 bikes.

without the nitrous, i'd eat his lunch on my stock wheelbase 14. It's all about the launch. If you can get your 14 out of the hole I think you'll be surprised at how strong you run on the other end. One little secret is that most people who don't drag race think that putting nitrous on their bike is going to make them god at the track and they focus so much on using the spray as a crutch that they end up running close to the same times that they would without it. I've seen it time and time again.

Me too. If you can get the 14 to hook up it's surprisingly quick off the line. I have raced against several "better" bikes and they only got away towards the end of the strip.

A "good" 60 ft. at stock wheelbase would be, say, 1.6x. A "good" 60 ft. at +6" would be 1.4x. Then factor in the hp difference. So, without a big difference in rider skill, it shouldn't be close.
Like I said, it comes down to the riders. The Busa would clearly have a huge advantage, if all things were equal. Can anyone really dispute that??

A properly set up long bike with a good rider will absolutely wallop a short bike, with othewise equal setups/riders. And it will be very apparent in the first 330 feet of the track.

Alot of guys 6 inches over are still in the 1.50's for 60 ft. hopefully he will post the ticket but the busa don't go 1.40 something 60ft and IMO the old busa is down .30 from the 14 in the first place then he's another .10 off for his weight he won't make that up being stretched he might make .20 up then he has to make another .20 up with the spray I bet he don't win by more then .15

A lot guys at +6" are in the 1.5''s...and a lot of guys at stock wheelbase are still in the 1.8's, to be honest. Like I said, it comes down to the riders, but the Busa obviously has a lot more potential.
.15 would be 5+ bikelengths. Still a solid ass-kicking...right?
Like I said, it's going to be about the riders...because the Busa should clobber him.
That brings up a thought...what does everyone here consider a thrashing at the track? If a guy has 3 bikes on me at the traps, I consider myself to be viciously stomped.

.15 = 33ft = 6 bike lengths at 150mph. Basically 5+

If you have great 60ft time you will still lose! Short bikes with avg. riders don't 60ft well. Stretched bikes with avg. riders will certainly 60 ft MUCH better.......race over! Especially when his 50 shot hits at the 330! Come on guys I hate Busas myself and would love to see the 14 win but???? Me personally...I would take the race if he was a rookie and no money was involved.

A Thrashing is anything over a .10 IMO. Due to the fact that it is so hard to make up (unless you missed a gear or something like that). The true thrashing happens when you think you can make up that +.10 with all things equal, and the rider in the other lane beats you all day long.

On stock wheelbase? JK
You will have to out ride him, but with 2 average rider both people rarely make a clean pass.
He could sleep on the tree, spin, wheelie, miss a gear, short shift, not use the nitrous right or nitrous not work right. Lots of things happen when you race.
Go get him and have fun!

Get into his (Busa guy) head. As long as you don't get into your own head at the sametime, I bet he redlights or sleeps at the tree.
