Bunch of Noob dumb questions
Seeing how I have never been to a drag strip before I decided to go last Friday. Surprisingly I had a great time just watching. I got to see some bikes and later talked in detail with them. Long story short I will participating in the next open day which is the end of September. For this year I am just going to run the bike the way it is but plan on making some changes over winter. Here are my EXTREMELY dumb questions:
1) What is the advantage of buying a longer swingarm compared to extensions?
2) Is adding the extensions something I can do myself (chain, brakeline)? I am mechanically inclined but don't have much experience with bikes.
3) How many passes with a stock bike do you get with a set of tires and clutch roughly?
4) Are the leathers on Ebay sufficient for protection at those speeds?
5) Any suggestions on gloves for shorter fingers?
I am just trying to get a rough dollar amount this new hobby will cost me on an annual basis. Any info would be appreciated!

1) A Properly built swingarm will be stronger with less points of failure. For a stock motor, a good set of extensions will suffice. There are some bad ones out there.
2) Yes, you can easily add extensions yourself.
3) I'd say about 200+ passes on a clutch, and a tire to go along with it.
4) Depends on the set. You can get a decent set for about $350 or less if you search around.
5) My girlfriend uses Joe Rocket men's small, but I'm not sure if those would work for you or not.

Thanks guys, great info. I am guessing the roaring toyz is a good set of extensions? I will look around for the leathers and will check that site out Wheelie my old friend 
As for the gloves, I am not a midget but do have an extremely small cock with fingers to match. All the gloves I have tried are a bit to long in the fingers and that drives me nuts. Hoping some of you have run across the same thing.

I prefer Spencer Cycle extensions. I have heard there are some issues with the brake hanger on the Roaring Toyz...but someone else can confirm.
As for your manhood...TMI.

If you are new to dragracing you may only get 50-100 passes out of a clutch until you figure out what to do. After the first set you more than likely will see 150-200 passes.

well, question #1 I was wrong, you are correct Shane, yes a swingarm is stronger, same length will be no advantage on performance, I use Roaring Toyz extentions

Who do you guys recommend for lowering links? The track is 1 hour away and I will be riding the bike to/from. Does this mean I have to go with the adjustable style?

Unless you slam it to within an inch of it's life, you can ride it to the track. Either style will work, the threaded are just more tunable. I have Spencer's threaded links on a few different bikes.

My ('07) bike is as stock as they come other then a PC, Flies out and Shortmeg Slip-ons.

Probably the middle hole of 3-hole links. And then you might contact the rear fender when launching, so you will need to install a protective plate. Or, you can install a Tiger Tail.

If you weigh 200lbs or under unsuited set it for 4 inches tire clearance with the bike straight up and not sitting on it with stock undertray. It will be roughly 2.75-3.0" clearance with you on the bike with 6inch stretch if you weigh 200.

lowered all the way with the 3 hole links you will rub a hole in the plastic under fender, and you can damage the ecu if it rubs the tire, my tiger tail rubs maybe a 1 inch spot, just use the middle hole and it shouldnt hit the oem fender, just keep an eye on it.

no, thats at about 64", stock will rub slightly at the lowest hole.
