gas
what gas are you using for street riding 87 89 91 ?.my 09 seems to run better on 87.thanks

I'm using 89 but think I'll try 87 as well. My Ducatis always ran well on 87 despite 91 being "recommended". Glad to hear 87 is doing fine. That's all I need to push me over.

Can someone explain why 87 and mot 91? Its been explained before, but I smoked a lot of pot back in the day and I can't remember nothen...

In the UK we have ordinary unleaded at 95 RON and Super at 98 RON, your 87 must be like kerosene, how does it perform in the ZX-14's 12:1 compression ratio engine? Any pre-ignition?

Australian RON and USA RON are different , might be the case with the UK too???

87 runs better because it burns faster unless you have a built motor or you are spraying the motor you dont need the extra fuel .

I was wondering the same as BobC, here in Chile we have 93 Octanes, 95 Octanes and 97 Octanes Gasoline. I use 97 on my ZX-14, because is the cleanest....and of course more expensive....

i just tryed the 87 pump gas at the track the bike felt good and strong i also put a knn filter dont know wat did the job the gas or the filter went 9.60

as long as you are not lugging it you should be ok. i run 93 most of the time in steamy florida to be on the safe side. i have never heard the bike ping.
