tiger undertail install

I am going to install one friday on my bike and I'm curious, how much time do I need to allow myself to install this? I'm installing extensions, sprockets, lowering links and frame sliders on a 06 gsxr1000 and in return he bought me the undertail. Is there any tricks to installing it before I get started?

Hey eklipse636, Not sure if you received it yet but I believe Shane661 has a few good pic's of his tiger tail install, also schnitz racing has the install instructions when you click on that product. Looks like a lot of work. Only reason I didn't get one yet.

Just have to take the tail section off.I did mine with the wheel still on,some might say it is easier with it off.Takes a little manuevering but it comes out.If you have any problems just call (Guy) thats his name he owns tiger racing.

It was a pain imo..... Didn't take super long though. Something like 2 hours. I also did it with the rear tire on.

One other suggestion............The tiger tail comes with zero mounting brackets for the factory hardware (ecu, fuses.....other stuff). My friend used his factory plastic undertail and cut out all of the mounting points and riveted them on to the tiger tail. I know it sounds weird but I promise it looked very clean. I was pissed that I tossed my factory under tail after I saw what he did.

I used heavy duty 3m velcro and some zip ties as needed:

Not perfect, but clean enough for me...

I'm all about some zip ties!! Never had too much luck with velcro, but on this application it just might work! Yall cut the "tounge" off the back under the tail light or leave it? Rubber coats my tail light now, so I think it would be a good idea to leave it.
