man i forgot it did happened already, tiger tails look kinda ugly for a street ride but I'm thinking about the license plate mod, i got it lowered at the middle hole but will it be any gains for the extra 1.5''?
Not if it is rubbing now. Post a picture of the bike so we can see how it is setting now. When strapped tight, you may be able to lower it some more.

Can't hardly see a tiger under tail, looks fine on a street bike spend 15.00 to powder coat it black and you can't even see it

All this made me go back and look up my very first pass on the 14 - bone stock off the showroom floor and the only other time I'd had a bike on the drag strip before was an old Vmax that I took out one time. So with no mods and no seat time, I baselined a tortoise-like 10.75 @ 140 mph. With full exhaust, PCIII with Brock's map, lowered on both ends, extended 6", -1 front sprocket, and removed secondaries, I've now run a best of 9.27@144....picked up only 4 mph between those runs, but dropped almost 1.5 seconds e.t. Before the gear change and removal of secondaries, my best was 9.32@148 - so I'm not convinced that the gear change and secondary removal were really worth it - still baffled where my mph went. But the main point is (in my opinion) the single best mod you can make is definitely seat time.

Just bolt-ons and race gas. (no power adders,N/A stockmotor) I have reduced my 1/8 E/T by 1.9 sec. from my first time at track. WOW. mods and seat time did it for me.

Just put an air shifter and a kill box from Cycle Tek. Cheap and definitely a great setup for the dragstrip.

I use a Dynojet quickshifter as my kill when airshifting at the track and for footshifting on the street. It has worked flawlessly for over 2 years. However, it takes some effort to set-up.

Switching to E85 is an easy switch if it's available in your area. I went from an average mph of 144 to 147 when I went to E85. WHen I switched to 46 mm throttle bodies, mph went to 149/150. This my first season of drag racing. Going from basically stock, to lowered in back and strapped in front, E85, 46 mm throttle bodies, SMEG and PCV, and stretched about 7 1/2, I'm down to a 9.17 at 149 for my best run. Not great. My best at stock wheel base was 9.65 at 149. Best 60' stock was a 1.6 ish and with stretch, it's down to a 1.46. Still not great, but better. Still foot shifting. Of course, seat time over the summer made a big difference. Watching videos, I STILL can't make myself get to WOT fast enough.
1/8 mile was about 115 average and went to 118/119 with E85, then to 121/122 with 46 mm throttle bodies.

I put on an Auto Tune with the PCV and started by adding about 30 to my entire map. I let the Auto Tune work a bit and it seems to have done pretty good. I don't have a data logger so I can't be sure, but I kept adding after each run at the Maxton Mile. It didn't slow it down any and I ended up with a top speed of 197.xxx When I had it on a dyno, it was pretty fat up top which left it at 170 HP. I don't mind that on a dyno when it works well at the track. I just switch from unleaded for normal riding to E85 for the track.

My basic "experience" with mods pretty much goes as follows but, I think me just getting used to the bike from going from a CBR1100XX to this accounts for a lot as well.
Best pass as I got the bike (PCIII mapped, Brocks full system, 20" ti can, 16/41, stock tires, stock height and wheelbase, foot shifting yada yada yads) was a 10.20@143mph.
Then I strapped it and got high 9.80's.
I then lowered the forks by .75" and 1.5" in the back and replaced the tires with PRII's, and changed the gearing to 16/40 and have gotten it down to a best of a 9.61@151mph, on a 1.63 60'.
I weigh 195 in street clothes.
But,,,,,,,,,,,,, the inevitable But,,,,,,,
I went to the track 3 weeks ago after not racing since Feb' and I only managed 1 semi clean pass out of 2 chances. I went 9.70 @ 145. Where did my mph go? I blame it on bad air and bad riding. Oh, I forgot, that 9.70 pass was my first with a quickshifter.

Beondwacko,
Nice progress. I think you should get a few more clean passes before concluding something is wrong.

I agree with that statement.
I'm feeling that I was "rusty" more than anything else. My short time was a 1.7(last track event I was mid 1.6's all day) and that's pretty hard to overcome on the far end for a "good run".
I get more opportunities to get to the track in the winter months than any other time of year. I am hopeful that I'll be able to fine tune my riding some more and attend a couple of elimination events this year. Work always comes first(family business) and that cuts into my play time.

I am wondering about one thing though.
That last "event" I was at in Feb', the bike was running pretty consistent 9.60's, my 60' times were pretty much all in the 1.6's, and I must have made almost 15 passes that day. Except for the first couple of passes, my mph seemed pretty high considering the ET.
151.3 mph on a 9.64 seems odd. 6.3 in the 1/8 @ 118.5 mph. I guess the bike liked the air that day because that seems too fast on the far end. I'm no flyweight either,,, about 220ish with leathers and helmet.
