I loved the 16/44 because it holeshotted well...when I could control it. You will still be in 5th gear too.

It is obvious 43 is getting old to you. Go at least 45, if you don't you will be thinking "what if ?".

The one thing I dont like about these gear threads is the dreaded "busted the oil pan last night at the track" we read about the next day...

Wheelie, do you run a lockup or stiff springs with the 48? I have a 48 on the shelf but don't know how to set up for it. I'm running 16/46 now.

Sorry Wheelie but I'm gonna tell em your secret! Wheelie has a Lockup throttle hand & Slipper clutch hand! He can swap a pipe and pull exactly the same time every run too ! Sandbagging? Maybe! His bike looks like it has a trials bike sprocket on back ,but it sure makes that Monster 14 fast ! Or , either he 's just an Old Dawg w/th a few new tricks!
(Sorry Blk ICE , but that was just plain fun) (Sorry Wheelie, I 'm just old &slow) he he

As I stated in the thread ek zzz chain link thread the 16-43 worked real good for me on my 06 and its not on the 08. Wheelie talked me into getting the monster 48t rear and I should have it tomorrow. Gonna put it on and see what it does for next weekend.
