You ever sell a bike you wish you had not?

I did, about 4 months ago and for no good reason at all i sold three of my old bikes. I Ebayed my matching 1978 Kawasaki Z1R and my 1978 KZ650 and my 1986 Prostreet GS1150 with a full Phillips procycle 1327cc motor. The 86 1150 is the one I miss most. It was fast and a real eye catcher

The guy I sold it repainted it now.

Yep, regrets. Sold my 78 Z1r to buy my 14. I really didnt have to as far as money was concerned but the wife wouldnt let 4 bikes live in the garage.
Very nice GS btw.

Hmmm, yup thats a nice bike bro.
I had a GS1150 back in the day too.

The bike I sold and miss most is my CR500AF.
I think I miss it most because I made it myself.
Guys were buying these from Service Honda for 2 times the money I had into mine, with only half the motor.

220 lbs, 73 RWHP, 105 mph ... dead tired of hanging on after 1-2 hrs.

...and no other dirt bike I came across stood a chance in a straight line... It would obliterate berms, demoralise and defeat any rider in about 10 laps.... It was jusy too much bike fo anything but an adrenaline rush....
That power to weight ratio rivals our 14..... but in the dirt!

I've never sold a bike I didn't want to keep. I want to keep them all. Simply not rich enough to have them all at once

i do miss my zx-14, she was awesome. So comfortable and the women would beg to ride with me cuz its riding
position was so relaxing. Felt like a cadillac. Also makes you feel kind of stupid cuz you would purchase the bike
later on again but its like a waste cuz you have already owned it and spent the cash. should have just kept it
in the first place.

Umm..lets see...

Nevermind, too many to list...

But, honestly, I miss the "years" more than the bikes. The bikes just bring back the memories...

Damn Big_T112,
That bike is beautiful, I've always wanted a real clean old school bike that ran great...
And Im sure it ran great..... I would have had to keep that one.
I'm keeping the ZX14 just like it is. Its too good of a bike to me.....

But to answer your question I wish I still had my 01 ZX9R....

Yea, I sold my 1985 Kawasaki 750 turbo. It only had about 1200 miles on it, and about 50 runs down the drag strip. I wasn't terribly fast, but it was so comfortable to ride, and a real blast up in the mountains.

Nelson I had the first "new" for 1998 ZX9R Kawasaki. A lot of people don't know how fast those things were. I still have a complete extra 99 ZX9R engine sitting in the floor. I was going to make another drag Banshee with the motor. Dubious those Honda CR500's would run but I never saw anyone keep one running long with out toasting the crank. I raced motocross on a YZ250 and had a Kaw KX500 I used for Hare scrambles and endouros. It was a monster too.

The KX500 was also a nice bike. I never had any problems with cranks, I owned 8 different variations between 1986 and 2006. 32:1 premix, and some crankase/ cylinder / head mods
The last 2 had pwk carbs bored to 41mm, then bored upward 2mm offset, for a 41x43mm carb. I had to cut alot off the top of the slide so it would clear when wide open.
compression at 13:1 from stock 6.9:1....LOL

I sold my GSX-R1000K5 when I bought the ZX-14, the best GSX-R ever, before the more stingent emission regulations came in and I do wish I'd kept it.

I met a guy last year who was an Italian bike fan. He was telling me about a Laverda RGS1000 that he owned. It turned out to be the actual bike I bought in 1985 and sold in 1987. It still had the Isle of Man stickers I'd put on it when I went to the TT Races and I was able to fill in the blanks in the bikes history for him. Another one I should have kept.
