Rattle at Start up.....Is that warrant TE able
Anyone get there tensioner rattle at start up fixed or looked at under warranty. Mine makes noise for a about a half a second then quiets down. Bike just turned 5K. I have the extended warranty on the bike. Thanks for your assistance and vigilance!

I'm pretty sure there isn't anything to "fix", some have gone with a manual tensioner to avoid the noise. Personally I endure it for that split second then enjoy the ride.

Yup.
I did the manual thing. Unless you are old school like some and used to checking a manual tensioner and know how,
I'd just live with it.

Or Bill Eason does a mod to the ZX12 that is a bolt on CCT. I had a APE manual
on a FJ1200 many years ago. Works fine but I go on long trips on the 14 and
do not want to worry about a manual CCT.
But really it does not hurt anything ... just pisses me off Kawasaki does not have a
fix for this. Seen several 14 with 20k plus miles and they run fine with the 1 second rattle
on cold start.

Mine is one of the 14's with 21000 miles on it and it runs great. The 1 second rattle at startup is just a minor annoyance. I wouldn't worry about it unless it grew much worse.

That rattle never bothered me enough to look into mending it.

I wish it did not "Piss" me off so bad. New bike still in warranty and the factory has
a deaf ear. Oh well Bill will a few CCT from a 12 he mods soon... :-)
Stan bently said he changed oil and his CCt rattle on cold start has quit.
Talked to others and that high $ oil did not stop the rattle. ??
