repairing scratched plastic?

i went down on corner with a lot of sand. i was only going about 15 to 10 mph, so damage is pretty minimal. the plastic is scratched, but not cracked and not all the way through.
i'm clueless as how to fix.

i'm guessing you would sand it down and use some kind of putty, smooth it out, and sand smooth.

does anyone here have body work skills??

easy enough if there is no wear throughs: just use bondo and do it up like a regular old car. Pick the good Bondo, that can be used on plastics. I layed my TL1000R over at about 25mph, toasted the whole side- underpan broken in 3 pieces (used boat fiberglass repair kit and it worked great- stronger than original- takes practice though, its hard to sand down if you get too much on. best to keep it low, then fill in with bondo). Had 2 small wear throughs on upper fairings, mid fairings nothing but scratches... 2 cans of bondo, 1 boat fiberglass repair kit, some tape and sand paper and 6 rattle cans later (3 colors needed) I had this: (almost forgot, also got a kit of permanent ink sharpies in all colors to fix the sticker. Yes, I fixed the sticker instead of replacing it. And you cannot tell. And did I mention I have zero talent? lots of patience though.)
Before the accident:

after the painting. This side was 100% repainted, not a single spot (except for around the half of sticker that was still good) was left unsanded/painted.:

And the final pic after I clayed and waxed it up (reworked tank, lower fairing, and whole tail on this side. Yes, I realize I 'missed a dent on the tank')

There are tons of mint used fairings on eBay and for sale on the forums.

I would never go throw the headache and invest my time into fixing something that can just be replaced for cheap... just my $0.02
