Who uses a straight link?

Who uses a straight link on their bike? I got a chance to ride a buddy's bike the other night without a link and couldn't believe how the suspension was. I forgot how mushy the ass felt. I got a couple launchs off but the bike squated so much it kinda freaked me out. I havent rode my 14 for over 2 years without the link. I was thinking of playing around with his set-up to see if I could pull some low 1.4's with it. He couldnt believe how stiff it made my bike feel.

I haven't ridden with it yet, but I have an ohlins shock with a 12.4 KG spring.
I also have the a zooks and an adams straight link.
The zooks is shorter, providing less lever advantage than the adams.
It should be right between the adams and stock from my calculations.
I like the zook design because it also has bearings, seals and a pins linke the stocker.

Just from sitting on the bike with the adams and the stocker i was very suprised in the difference.

I had a zook on mine and it worked pretty good. I had a fabricator make me one and he put alot of time into the design. He made two of different lengths and the bike would hook with a shinko leaving on spray and sagged about an inch when I left. I'm 250 lbs. Shorted 1.4 - 1.43. Stock shock. Theres alot to be gained with a straight link.

I just got 1. But i changed several things from my old set-up. 1st off only tried this 1 time at the track so far. No et changes yet. My 1st thought was you gotta leave harder. 2nd bike tends to wheelie easier on out there in like 2nd and 3rd. Gonna have to fine tune everything.

i changed to straight link, litz shock, and adj lowering links. Still 1.48 sixty ft. Im 220lbs also.
