Power one users... Tire pressure
Guys, what is the lowest tire pressure you have run in your Power One tire on a bad or
poorly prepped track? Thanks...

Depends on what you weigh, the length, motor work?
Poorly prepped track, then go up to the line and inspect the track for a good spot...Ask the person controlling the lanes to run the bikes after the slick tire cars!!!

Ok, let's try this again. I am running 12 psi at 65' wb, 16/46, 220 suited on a somewhat
slippery track. I'm just trying to get a reference point from other P1 users. Thanks...

I wouldn't go any lower than that. I wouldn't think u'd need to... Maybe 10 psi would be the lowest. I've seen people run lower, but it looks like the damn rim in going to bottom out when they take off!

Try 16lbs & not too long of a burnout...
You need to inspect the launch area real good for a nice spot!!!

69" wheelbase, mostly well-prepped tracks here, and I run 15-20 psi on my 180-55 Power One. Lowest I've had to run is 10 psi on a shitty track.
The Pro Street guys are starting to run this tire instead of the M/T Shootout tire. So far, the Power One 190-50 SV has gone 7.27 @ 199 at 68" wheelbase. I know suspension has alot to do with it, but that's awesome for a DOT approved Road Race tire!!!!
I've been settling for race take-off Power Ones. The centers are like new, and I'm paying around $80, and still getting 150+ passes on the tire. They are lighter than the Shinko's too.

this is a little off point but ditch the power one if you are not woried about running in a class and go with the shinko 008 silck i ran it for the first time last week at a ok preped track i am 190 lbs suited and 65 inch long 25psi in the rear tire no burn out and dead hooked and i leave at 5500 RPM.

The 180-55 is about 11.5 lbs and the 190-50 is about 12.5 lbs.
Pat, have you weighed them yourself? I found the power race 180 and 190 tires to be essentially the same in weight (12.5 lbs).
If the 180 is truly 11.5, I might pick one up.

No, these were numbers I saw from another site. I have another 180 coming next week, I'll try to get it weighed.

Hey pat are the Power Ones shaped like the prev. Pilot Race ? meaning are they a rounded profile tire (road race style ?)??NOT flatish like the shinko's???

I can tell you they are rounded profile. Plenty of people in LSR are using them.

They are rounded, but they are working superb on the drag strip, even better than the Power Race's were. The Pro Street guys are loving them..
Here's some vid's of the tire in action...

Check ebay. I bought a few here before. All they have is the 'medium' compound left from what I can see. These still work great though and are cheap....
