Wrongway--
Congratulations. You now need to bring it to Bonneville where you can run it both ways--

I would love to , but I would have to upgrade my truck first to make it that far.
But I heard that y'all dont treat southern rednecks all that good out there.

Cool!
Roy, you didn't even lower the bike?
Wow!
Will the bike run without the guages? I am thinking that may help, along with a foam plug for the seat cowl.
Congratulations, even if it didn't turn out to be the record you hoped, I am sure it was fun and a personal record anyway.
At least you are participating.
Just keep doing your thing and don't worry about the rest bro.

I think shane tried to run without gauges and the bike would not run full out. I have not tried

this record is more than I hoped for. It was a new motor and I did not want to try nitrous on it without a couple of shakedown runs. It is still a record for the 1650 cc class at Loring and I made it into the 200 mph club. who could ask for more ? My father was even with me to help celebrate.
But in my haste i looked up records at maxton and Bonneville to compare , I just didnt look at all the classes to see if anyone was faster. Even if it is not the fastest naked NA bike , I feel lucky to be as close as I am.
Out of the 25 folks who are in the naked 200 mph club, only 6 have done it on motor.

The bike will run for 1 pass without the gauges. Then you have to hook them back up and ride it so it see's the speedo signal. Then the error will clear and you can run it again.

Thanks for the kind words Karl. What you, Doug and Jim have accomplished with the 12 is amazing. Carpenter says a good 12 head = good Busa head. The 14 is troubled with offset ports and a porting philosophy that does not allow it to be improved much. I really don't know the fastest N/A 14. It doesn't seem as if anyone has really tried. If you want more speed try improved aeros. What will get us back to Loring is the 237 run was made with a blown HG. 80% LD between 3-4. Larry

Larry,
237 w/blown HG???
I'm gonna start pre-blowing my HG's.
BTW: Ryan (Osti) and his Dad are on the move to Speedweek, please treat him kindly, he may be from Illinois, but he means well

Roy,
We don't care where someone is from as long as they like speed. I became very close to a guy last year from Georgia. Nicest guy in the world. At Bonneville you will meet the friendliest guys who will loan you all their tools and tell you all their speed secrets. It's totally different than a drag strip or race track. I'm originally from Virginia- The World 's Fastest Indian movie is right on. I'd like to see more 14's out there.

Do have you met Jon Minnino from Fort Worth? He now LSR a Harley powered
stream liner now that he built when he and I worked at D&D Exhaust. Before
that he raced Triumphs for Jack Wilson and Johnny Allen (many years ago)
Jon holds many recoreds Dag Racing, a Pro Comp Suzuki and 200 MPH member
on several different motorcycles. But the twin engine Triumph was "open Cockpit"
is the bike he first hit 200 on :-)
he ran the Super Flow Dyno at D&D when he was not has his shop building engine's..
Learned a lot from Jon as he has tuned several of my bikes over the years.

Jon Minnono is the man. FIRST to go 250 MPH on an open- wheel motorcycle anywhere. Way back in 1992

He IS good on about any style format. Several NHRA National Record Holder in
several different classes over the years. Awarded " Best Engineered Vehicle" at
a NHRA Natioal Meet with a 3 stange NOS in Pro Comp (I think) it's been awhile.
In the mid to late 90's he was World's Fastest Open Wheel Motorcycle at a 2 way
average 235.295 Big D Triumph Blue #601 . A twin engine Triumph (late model)
and two different cc engine's ( I think ) .
He told me one day during lunch at D&D back then that he "Knew" when he had a
good run in 1/4 with his car Tire Pro Comp... that when he crossed the line before
he pulled the clutch in and let off OFF The front Tire Is Spinning Backward's ....it Was A Good Run :-) All the way on the wheelie bar.
First saw him on dirt at local Flat Track( Ross Downs) 1/2 mile and met him at Green Valley Drag Strip later
In the mid 1970's on a White and Chrome plated frame old Triumph Triple with
a slick and wheelie bar. Old school even then, Kaw 900 was engine of choice then.
He is Deadly Like Smokin on the Tree, And Every Time. Beautifull Racer(The Triumph) well finished out.
He is on the way or in Bonneville now. Forgot when he was going. New carbon fairing on his bike this year.
Ride safe.
