I remember a few years back seeing a circular electrode with claims, and then the plug disappeared. It was the Pulstar. I see it is back - bottom.

The road racers and some drag racers are using them with some success,
I think the advantage might be piston to head cleaance, and reduced hot spot and resultant detonation.
These are just guesses on my part.
The HP increase is a joke though.
