Thanks for the Info. Smokin. I'm going to switch to the 008 if I find out I can run it in bracket racing at State Capitol in Baton Rouge.

Yes you can run it for bracket racing at State Capitol since there isn't a specified class there. Its just an all-run motorcycle class at State Capitol and at No Problem on Fridays and Saturdays. The only time you won't be able to run that tire is if you run a Street ET class, such as the Huricane Alley Series, Redline Series, or AMA Dragbike Series.

Them Cajun boys still running up there in shorts and tennis shoes?? Or was that Eunice that I saw that.

I loved racing at State Capital; good group of guys that would always lend a hand when needed. As far as tire rules go, if it's rubber, that's all they care about. Seemed to me tech was always a bit laxed anyways. I was the one that always just walked up with my tech card, in shorts, handed it to him, and walked back to my trailer.

Is Buddy P. still tearing it up, up there??? He's probably one of the best, young, natural drag racers I've seen in a long time. Sorry Pat, never saw you race, but I'm sure you fit into that category as well. Just glad I never had to race against you. Between Buddy's .00 something lights, and running a few hundredths off his dial in, them Cajun boys whooped my ass everytime I went up there.

No Eunice was a different story. Those Lake Chuck boys were'nt the sharpest tools in the shed. Racing R1's with sneakers and shorts, no jacket, helmet, but no gloves. I won the money there every single time I went over there. Was like taking candy from a baby.....just to lose it all to Buddy and his pals at SCR.

I sure don't miss the heat/humidity. And the things you call bugs.....OMG.

Where or you located these day's iflyems? There is one sharp ass rider on a blue 14 at SCR that runs around 150 but really runs the number.

I'm in Arizona now, and have moved on to other things. There was always a few guys up there with ZX14's, and they were all pretty good. I never had the turbo then, but I liked the people.

I was referring to the Shinko Slick that he was asking about in a previous post.
That car tire would be approved for Street ET since its a DOT tire.

bump........ smokin, why do you use the 190 over the 180/55? Don't you get a larger contact patch with a lighter tire with the 180/55?

I'm not at the level of skill where it would matter, and I'm going to be buying a pirelli race take-off tonight. When that tire is through, I may give the stinkos a shot.
Thanks

Thanks for the info Smokin, the 003 Ultra soft will still light up when you are on a good run. Best 60' is 1.39, best 1/8 120 mph. Best mph is 150.6, now get those times all together on one run could easy make the 8's. Drag season ended last Saturday so back to the drawing board for next year. Track condition usually sucks.
