If it's lubricated and correctly adjusted and the wheel alignment is ok and it's still making too much noise then it's probably worn chain and sprockets.

Mine started doing the same thing in the last 500 miles or so. Just ordered a new chain and sprockets yesterday. This one (stock) lasted a little over 17k miles so I'm happy with that.

If you decide to replace the chain, make sure you replace both sprockets! And now is a good time to re gear if you would like a little more pep!

Did you "Clean" really good with WD-40 before you lubed it?? How many miles on the chain?

sounds like worn sprokets and chain, or kinked stiff old chain...
A friend of mine once asked me what I thought of the noise coming from the countershaft cover on his bike... every time he would gas it hard it would make a terrible clicking noise...

LOL .... his frt sproket had no teeth left on it, they were worn right off!

If it only has 900 miles maybe its a normal sound your not use to, I dunno. Try cleaning it. I don't spray wd40 directly on it, I soak a rag in it and wipe the chain off good (so it dosent sling everywhere) then I spray a little maxxium chain wax on it. Too much will make dirt stick

Dude! the noise has to be normal if you have less than 900 miles on the chain. I would not worry about it if its the stock chain. It is probably just a noise that you are not used too.

I seriously doubt that chain is bad, even if you have never lubed it. IF the chain is wore out, your not going to accomplish much by replacing just the chain without the sprockets. Guys put 15k-up on chains...That's my $.02

Check the side plates of the inside of the chain. If your have shinny plates, the chain is not running in the middle of the sprocket, causing the noise.
I experience this with my ZRX1200R once.

Either somethings misaligned or not tensioned properly. At over 20K miles my original stock chain and sprockets still look great and do not nor never have, done that.

Make sure the alignment is also even after tighting the axle bolt. I have 26,000 miles on my stock chain. I do get a clicking or popping sound when the chain has not been lubed in some time. I used to clean the chain w/ wd40 and lube it with 30 weight oil. I didn't get good results w/ this system. The chain links rusted and stuck together in a couple of spots.
Would a bad chain cause vibration?

That's a new one to me. Never heard of putting motor oil on a chain. I bet that made a good mess when you hit ab 60mph. That's what they make chain lubricants for. I understand some people don't like them, but some people like busas too.. What's wrong with these people?

I honestly don't think I hear excessive chain noise and I DO have stock cans.
I’ve been riding chain bikes so long that I probable just blank it out of my mind now.
Are you sure that the chain is adjusted properly?
Mine wasn’t right from the dealer, it was way to loose.
The clunking noise when running over a speed bump is the chain hitting the lower part of the swingarm. All the chains on our bikes will hit the lower part of the swingarm, and that’s why they put that chain rail guide thingy on there.
Did you come off a bike that had a drive shaft and now your have a bike that has a chain?
Chain noise is normal to a certain level.

Another possible cause of the slapping noise you hear on bumps MAY be the sidestand (kickstand). Mine sometimes makes a noise over a hard or large bump.

I think your chain is fine. I suspect at 900 miles your chain is converting from grease to lube and slapping seems normal. If your still concerned mineral Spirit the chain, then wipe the chain down. I would ride 50-100 miles before I'd lube it for the first time. Still sounds normal to me.
