Gear Ratios and Dynos

Has anyone ever tested to see if different gear ratios changes the reading on the dyno, for example, would a 16/43 give a different dyno number than a bike geared higher at 18/41? I know that a bike geared lower causes the bike to pull harder down low, how does that translate to the dyno?

Gearing has never affected the hp/torq readings on any of my dyno runs.

Why don't you just ask the builders? Or are they are too busy building 246 hp, 1441cc Busa's?

I guess my point is...you didn't seem to value the insights of anyone here regarding the Busa subject, so why should this be any different?

Man Shane give the guy a break. If it was not for him I would not have the 500hp Busa sitting in my garage. Like him my reputable builder promised me huge HP gains with little money and came through as expected from a reputable builder. 500hp for $500 on his dyno. I did put it on my buddies dyno yesterday and it only showed 185hp so there must be something wrong with my buddies dyno. Thanks again Ninja ZX-14 for being a quality contributer to this forum! You saved me a ton of grief trying to get my 14 to 500hp.

Shane661, rich s, 14nooby, thanks for the ignorant sarcasm! I ask whoever I want to ask whenever I have a question. Shane obvious u don't have the answer, so why don't you just not say anything. As far as valuing insights, I do value that but I don't value ignorant ass comments. There is a difference in case you didn't know. What I ask was a valid question that people like you are afraid to ask. As far as going back to the 246 HP Busa, let me explain it to you so that even you can understand. I never said that a Busa would do this or that. I was told that it would by people who have built more engines than you will ever see. I gave everyone the names and contact info of each builder. If you still got a problem with it, Tough Tittie! None of you guys are Kawasaki or Suzuki, so quit taking this lil shit so personal. I would like to think all of you have got more important things to do with you lives than to come on here and insult other people. Grow up.

Ninja ZX-14 I'm not picking sides on this but you come in here ( the zx14 forums ) and talk about the Busa HP numbers .. If you want to talk about the Busa use the Busa forums because most of us could careless what a Busa does or doesn't do ... If we cared we would go to the Busa forums and read about it there .. I find it funny that you can't understand why people here ( zx14 forums ) are giving you shit .. Get over it and move on ...

Each tooth you go up in the rear equates to 10 HP. This only works on the 14 though. So for example I run a 44 tooth rear sprocket and my bike has close to 240 rwhp. Like I said don't try this on a Busa you will need engine mods to net the same HP gain. Try to not leak this either, that's why my bike is so fast.

I checked with 3 sprocket makers and they agreed with your findings....but they also said I should install a new sprocket after every 10 passes, for best results.

This explains Ninja ZX-14's post in the classifieds looking for a 152 tooth rear sprocket.

Asshole???????. how mature, just like your thick skin cussed out other members on your

Busa thread. But I do agree with Shane, you do come off looking like a dumbass/ rookie, and a

very young one at that. You ask questins that are something a dumbass would ask.

And Shanes oil pan bolts will gain 10 MPH on the low end. Please toddle off to the Busa

site and play with your little friends.
