Ummmm no, I don't think so - more power = more gas consumption. Unless you have several thousand miles from before and after - accurately measured and documented, the better mileage is likely only a psychological thing...seriously. Every mod I've done has resulted in less mileage/tank, which is inline with the way things generally work.

He measured it on one day's ride for a few miles - probably from the MPG gauge too...not accurate.
Dude - you gotta run at least 10 tanks before and 10 after - riding in the same place then and check total mileage before and after. You will see you're down after the mod's - either that, or your now riding like a pussy...

you can get better mileage and better power with a good map.i set my map to get 14,7 at crusing speed(below 12% throttle 70 to 80 MPH and 12.9 for power upper12% throttle on my motty afr tuner) on my 06 i went from about 175 miles to about 205 miles before the gas light come on wen i dont abuse the bike 70 80 MPH and faster to pass car or sometime a little hi speed pass.you dont need to run rich at crusing speed.i test it 5000 miles on my 06 before i trade for a 09.thats about 45 MPG canadian gallon (miles are from GPS=speed and odometer.computer on the bike is not accurate and it is worst with a pc3 or a motty afr tuner.i will instal the motty on my 09 next week and post the numbers.

I think pulling the flies can give better gas mileage. It allows you to use a higher gear for normal street riding and still get a good throttle response. Just depends how you ride, I get around 43mpg on the highway.

seems to me that if you went from an overly rich condition to say a better running leaner condition that fuel milaqe could be better.

I got better mpg when I pulled the flies and added a pcIII. It was less rich at wot, and it was easier to pull a lower gear.

I am thinking most are seeing the mileage change due to both intake and exhaust.
If you don't have to get into it as long, to accellerate the same it might work out.
Definately the stiffled exhaust was not helping, thurning fuel into heat, instead of power.

I believe I could get better than 38mpg, that I regularly get now. My pipes are always leaving dark deposits on the insides. My buddies 08 Busa gets 43+mpg and his pipes are clean as a whistle. Both bikes are bone stock and broken-in.
